Top 10 Changes you DON'T want to see!

The other thread was awesome. SO my question is... what do people think SE got right? What should they NOT change?

    1.) Yoshi-P and The New Team. <3

2.) Crafting as main jobs - I love that crafting in this game is an actual job, not an afterthought. As a crafter, I hope SE keeps Crafters/Gatherers in mind and doesn't let us become the red-headed step child!

3.) Mor Dhona - Its awesome. I love it.

4.) Armory System - Yes, it needs work. But the idea is awesome!

5.) Customized Characters - Yes, it is too customizable and needs tweaks, but it is also awesome!

6.) The Forums - More direct comments from the staff to non-JP language forums is nice, but having a central place to comment on stuff was a good, good, step in the right direction!

7.) Big Zones! - Again, more tweaks are needed to fix disappearing people, etc., and there is a lot of repetition within a zone that needs to be addressed, but the size of the zones are nice!

8.) Crafting Minigame - Personally, I love how this was done. As with everything, it needs tweaking, but the principal is spot on!

9.) The ability to wear any gear - I love, love, love this! I think there needs to be greater penalty to wearing cross-class and lower rank gear, but I like being able to wear what I want when I want!

10.) The fluidity of movement - There needs to be more oomph to things like weapon skill animations, but what is there IS very fluid and very natural. Best ever in an MMO for sure!

I'm a little leery of the topic but i guess i'll bite.

1)I really dont want to see impossible bosses that can cause 18 hour battles come back.

    2) Being able to make some nice outfits by mix and matching armor sets

    3) The level cap, i think we can add plenty of stuff to do without raising it.and i think raising it causes some concerns . though thats a battle for way in the future. Ultimately a level is just a number and a time limit.

    4) Anima, its not fun to wait for someone to get to thanalan from coerthas, anima alleviates that problem.

    5) I'd like the new dev team to stay, provided they keep doing a good job.

    6) being able to multiclass effectively, I've seen tank mages and dps tanks, if anything i'd like to expand on that rather than tone it down.

Errrr uhhh...I could only think of six

My bad; I miss titled the thread. The idea isn't so much a list of "Don't Implement This" as it is meant to be a "I Think SE Got This Right." Slight difference. Oops.

I've only been playing since Feb 3 so my opinions do not reflect anything prior to patch 1.15a, or the original dev team.

    1. The economy and market wards- FFXIV has the most amazing and fun economies of any game I have played to date. There have been days where I had planned to work on ranking up my pugilist but I never made it out of the market wards. I consider myself a crafter/ gatherer at heart, but the past month I have enjoyed the profitable role of trader more than anything else. I have no experience playing the market before the addition of a search feature, but I can only imagine the horrors and time wasted. System as it stands functions beautifully and warrents no major changes other than addressing underused LL and Grid wards.

    2. The synthesis and gathering mini-games- FFXIV absolutely has the best crafting and gathering of any game on the market. Only system coming remotely close is from Vanguard, which was excellant as well. People have been making comments that without a netflix subscription, they wouldn't be able to work up their DoH skills. I definately agree the fun mini-game becomes monotonous after things slow down and the grinding begins. Once I realized mashing standard synthesis overcomes most of the obstacles the mini-game throws at you- grinding while watching a few movies didn't seem like such a bad idea. More challenge, and rewarding intelligent decisions are the key as opposed to making the process easier or faster.

    3. The fatigue system- I watched the FFXIVTactics video explaing the system at least 4 times before I went out and bought the game. I knew what to expect. When I experienced its impact for the first time while playing my gimpy gladiator I hung up my weathered gladius and purchased a mining pick to go see what was inside those shiny red lights I kept stumbling across. After that I bought a cross-pein hammer and made some nuggets to repair my gear. I like this system as it encourages diversification which fuels the market. A month later now that I have found which classes I enjoy the most, reaching the first few levels of fatigue doesn't bother me in the least as I continue to do battle leves for guild marks or grind parties with LS mates. Players with tunnel-vision may not like it, but they would be wise to branch out and enjoy the ride.

    4. The repair system- This system is great!

    5. Frequent communication from the dev team- I was very impressed last month with the Letters from the Producer, as well as the Ask the Devs articles. When the forums were announced my immediate concern was that the quality of those front page articles would take a step down since they would be comfortably nustled inside the forums. If they remain greatly informative while becoming less flashy no harm done I suppose.

    6. The player polls- I actually read in one thread that someone was complaining about SE wasting time with player polls. I missed out on the first poll, but was quite impressed with the second one and eagerly awaited its results. I would like to see more frequent polls.

...I too have run out after 6... I do however disagree with this point specifically from Origamikitsune:
I think there needs to be greater penalty to wearing cross-class and lower rank gear, but I like being able to wear what I want when I want!
I think there should be less of a penalty for wearing cross-class gear and a greater penalty for wearing higher rank gear.

Also, somewhat on topic- I don't want to see hordes of those RMT bots hasty handing fish into shards surrounding the aquarium in LL all day every day; as well as the fishing bots with no bait/lure equipped so all they attract is crayfish sitting at the fishing hole south of Nophica's Wells. Any changes to curb botting activity would be welcome and if it negatively impacted my experience I wouldn't mind since it would hinder RMT.

    In no particular order

    1) Anima: Anima is fine as it is, no need to take it out ot re-tweak it. If you don't like it don't use it
    2) Death Penalty: The current DP is fine, we don't need SP/XP loss. If you feel like causing yourself pain while playing a game give yourself a Falcon Punch to the groin area.
    3) Gear: The ability to wear any gear is excellent. I would like to see a soft Rank Requirement put it. By soft I mean you can wear or use ANY gear before optimal rank. But only 5 ranks before optimal. So once you are R40 you could start wearing R45 pieces. This allows you to grow into your gear so to speak.
    4) Crafting: As it is crafting IMO is fine, it needs some tweaking, but it does not need a complete overhaul
    5) Retainer System: I like it how it is mostly. It needs some more tweaks but its good overall. Get the marketplace crashing fixed and that will help alot
    6) Races: I know alot of people want new races or male/female versions of single sex races, but I don't. Not anymore, the game is designed to be played on one character for all jobs. Unless they were going to (and I doubt it) as the ability to re-choose your race/gender.
    7) Armory System: I love it how it is, expansion and tweaking is fine, but I don't want drastic changes. I like that you can build your own job concept by mixing and maxing things. It is the main feature that draws me here.
    8) Crafting & Gathering Main Jobs: I love it, if you don't like it don't level it, its a choice.
    9) Linkshell Sizes: Some people want linkshells dropped in size, there have been rumours of that happening. No thanks, I enjoy them as they are. If you want a smaller Linkshell, then take the initiative and limit how many players you invite.
    10) Physical Level: I actually enjoy it, there must be a way to make the system better without removing this system completely.

Ooooh. Linkshell sizes... I like that. I have to admit, the potential of loosing access to the rather large LS I am in is frightening. We -just- remade our LS to get rid of the people who quit playing, and ended up with 90 active players. I love love love it.
