    Will Eureka remain relevant?

I've been away ever since a month or so after 4.0 launch ... so I've only just got around to experiencing Eureka, and I love it.

I love that it gives me those FFXI feels. I love that monsters will bother to chase me and everything aggros. I love that I got killed by the level 5 Phurble. I love that I lose exp for death. I love that elements mean something. I love that people actually talk to each other and form parties and work together.

I get that not everyone likes it, but I can plainly see that the people in there love it too. Maybe the primary mistake was tying the Geralt quest to it, because that made people feel like they HAD to do it even if they didn't want to...

But there's a ton of other stuff to get, like Materia, Mats, Tomes, Mounts etc (and the joy of just doing it if you're into that sort of thing).

Since it is tied to its own leveling system, it should easily be transferable to future expansions, simply by having it continue to drop both stuff like Mounts, but also current Materia / Mats / Tomes. Stuff that doesn't necessarily force the player to play it unless they want every Mount for completion. But makes it another option, a way to spend time in the game, just an ongoing form of current content by which to progress.

I mean, for me personally, I'll put some time into it here and there no matter what, just because I want to ... but it would seem like such a waste for it to lapse into irrelevance as far as tomes etc. Anyone have a clue about this?

They could add features in 5.0 to make it more undersize-friendly, like FC accessing Diadem for instance.
But the design of Eureka that built into its own experience (like it or hate it) will be difficult to carry over because it simply needs a lot of players. They would need to nerf a lot of it, make a strong scaling for small instances for certain NMs...
There are also issues in the current design. A "veteran" Eureka player will mess up EXP gains if they team up with lower eLevel members etc.

They'd need to change a lot of it, so I guess it will just die out. And the currently Eureka Exclusive items will drop in the 5.3 deep dungeon.

Honestly not sure because Eureka has so much content in it unique to Eureka.
Relic weapons, expensive armors, mounts, emotes & and a ton of grinding to get them.

I could see it being something again after people finally lose their hype when ShB comes out, but expect it to be dead as soon as ShB drops.

We will see soon. The devs are claiming that they have a way of scaling/modifying the content so that it remains do-able in the future. I honestly don't see how they can pull that of as basically all you do is killing a bunch of specific mobs to spawn a big mob to kill. A lot of those a definitively not solo-able by a dps. And you can already see zone drying up already.

currently eureka scale your equipment to ilevel 300, so they may just increase that scale or unlock it totaly for ppl to solo it

I kinda like it as something I can quickly hop on and maybe do a little bit without waiting in queues or being tied to a dungeon run or anything. Good for my poor time availability.

But, my time in is also typically spent in the dead weekday hours. And yeah. It already feels a bit irrelevant at those times.

Challenge log is mostly simple enough to solo in a dead instance of Anemos.

It's certainly easier to get in and do whatever compared to Diadem (where I've only been once), but, it's hard to imagine it'll still pull much of a crowd after 5.0. Might be something you'll be able to find linkshells or other special groups for, but probably a little less pick-up-and-go.

I mean much can happen but I have a hard time believing that it will stay relevant after this expansion. The only saving point it has is the queue system for a whole datacenter instead of just one server like the Diadem had. But why should people still run it after they got their relic or the items they wanted and I honestly really hope that they dont keep it up by just throwing more and more stuff behind it. Content that is good will stay alive alone much longer and dont need constant new rewards..and if something needs that then imo its not good content and should just be left alone..but of course this will make it hard to do the relic after the expansion.

The one thing about Eureka is that it's Elemental and Ilvl capped, NOT level capped, it can be scaled easily to lvl80, what's needed to keep it relevant though is either new treasure or prizes that will keep people playing it in 5.x like current tomes, experience points or something else. Otherwise it will just die off and the buggest problem is lvl70 AF3 is tied to this. It would either need scaling down otherwise unless there's modifications to keep it relevant as it is still fun to play Eureka.

It will most likely get the diadem treatment come 5.0

Its decent now. When it first released though it was not so good.

There are tons of people in Eureka now as it is a good alternative to getting tomes.

It's impossible to say. As it depends on what the Devs do with it (If anything)

Like, I can see some QoL changing coming with ShB, such as being able to purchase Crystalline Shards with Hydatos Crystals (Like is possible with the other 3 zones). Maybe an ilevel cap increase, so people are a bit stronger without Elemental gear (I.e. BA armour and Physeos weapon) as well as reducing the number of enemies needed to be killed in order to spawn NM's so that smaller instances don't feel like a waste of time...

But I'm not sure if they'd bother to actually put in new stuff for it. Leaving it as merely a place for people to farm out the SB Relics as well as grab some other knick-knacks (Mounts, minions, hairstyles, emotes, items like Strider's Boots etc)
