Yoshi-P actually made some comments on the JP side regarding some of the questions in this thread that I would like to share with you.
We apologize for the frequency of towns crashing on certain worlds. This isn’t the result of overcrowding; these crashes are due to memory bugs related to inns and other newly implemented things that we didn’t discover before we released them. We are currently focused on investigating this issue.Seems like a lot more people have come back before the world merge and Ul’dah and instanced raid areas are crashing.
Again, we apologize for the inconveniences due to this and once we have resolved the issue we will let you know.
This wasn’t lag, but was a problem related to a lobby server queuing bug. (As it was having an issue determining one character from another, it affected the chat system.) In addition to the previously mentioned memory issues, we are also working full force on resolving this issue before the world merge takes place.On the day of the patch, logging in was extremely laggy and after logging in the LS chat display was all weird (names were not being displayed, colors were different, etc.). Is this related at all to people increasing with the world merge?
