FFXI Players

I'm playing FFXI right now as I wished I played FFXI during it's Prime, but didn't have the money to get a decent PC/PS2 and internet at the time

Asura is the biggest server right now but the community is very toxic, especially a person named Spicyryan.i would avoid him

But I'm enjoying ffxi slowly. It's sad becuase I've been playing this game for months and just playing with trusts and it get lonely, I'm level 86 dancer trying to get to 99

That character sounds familiar. I'm sure I've heard of em before.
I'm sad to hear that you haven't had a great time with the community But there are those that are nice and to help you out someone asked me I would help them out I am also on Asura.

With both XI and XIV, I managed to end up on the most popular servers completely by chance (Balmung = 1.0 merge, Asura = this is where my coworker played).

For those of you who are still playing XI, how do you feel about your servers?

Phoenix has ~500 players on average, reaching close to 800 at primetime. With trusts and a small linkshell I have no issues with content.

Ffxi was my first MMO, played till mid wotg. Still miss old ffxi. Tried going back a few times but it's not the same as it used to be.

I have many good memories of FFXI. I played from NA release until about 2009 when I went away to college and couldn't keep up anymore. I met some of my closest friends in that game and even after quitting, continued to keep in touch until we started playing XIV together during the PS3 beta. After meeting them in person for the first time at the first Fan Fest I moved across the country to live with them! So it's all thanks to XI haha!

I played ffxi for years. But when are came out I switched to playing this game. Oh and I met my rl husband on ffxi as well. Ty SE for making ffxi. It really helped me in my life.

Thanks everyone for the really nice replies! Lots of nice memories shared. I will never forget when I got to level 50 with my Husband I was like what now? we where complete noobs..i asked somebody and he said "Go ask Maat" I am like who the f*&^ is this Maat? he must be lying. Cousin said Bismarck was the best server ever.

he retired and played this now he was a well known name of bismarck even mentioned in legendary players on Allakhzam for helping a lot.

He tried to make a thread about FFXI and what servers people came from to re-connect old friends who might of left ffxi to play here but a moderator locked it and said to focus on people here and now which I thought was weird.

because it didn't break any rules and it was about FFXIV and FFXI that's why I thought it was weird it was locked.

Keep telling yourself that, You dont know my age, therefore you dont know my generation therefore you dont know my opinion on the game peaks . Cleared Divine Might battlefield on ranger at Lv70 after 7 pickup groups failures with kiting strategies(7 pentaspheres) by making my own alliance consisting of 16 black mages (including japanese players) time nuking half blizzaga/half thundaga to prevent resists,|BIG BOOM|battlefield cleartime record back when sky was the top end game. Not going to explain to you more of my gameplays but you speak like if I was not there while I was.

Ps: If you want old experience then make friends, reinvite old friends, level sync, do not use trusts, so on so on. Game is still there, and the way it works its mechanics also.

Almost sounds like the reason you prefer it now is because it's a cake walk ever since they upped the cap from 75.

Which ironically is why a lot of people think its worse. Because easy ain't fun..
