My keyboard skills are not that great (worst back then). Back then, I never played about of PC games. Only PC game I played was XI, which I moved from PS2 around I think about halfway in CoP's lifecycle. XIV was the second game I played on PC at the time but I always used Controller. For 2.0, I never did really like the whole Crossbar thing so I decided to try and learn keyboard and mouse. Of course I wasn't comfortable with WASD so what I decided to do was use Keyboard and Controller. The Controller is strictly for Movement and Camera which I keep in my left hand. My right hand is on the keyboard. Mouse is used for situational and misc actions.
Keybinds 1 to =, Crtl+1 to Ctrl+6, Shift+F1 to Shift+F6, and Ctrl+F1 to Ctrl+F6 are used the most frequently. Alt+1 to Alt+= is strictly for Pet Actions and etc but that's being changed so Alt keybinds are gonna be strictly for Misc Actions (Alt+1 to Alt+2 also have secondary binds to the mouse in case of Place Down Actions).
Keybinds Ctrl+7 to Ctrl+=, Shift+F7 to Shift+F12, and Ctrl+F7 to Ctrl+F12 are either not in use or used very rarely (Long windup time to execute when I gotta switch to the Ctrl, Alt, and F keys on the other side).
Mouse is used for Place Down Actions like Salted Earth or Rook Turret.
I've been using this setup for so long that it's hard to change it. I tried to have "normal" keybinds at the start of Stormblood since by then I've gotten used to using WASD, Keyboard and Mouse from playing a lot of PC games but that didn't last too long. My Special Setup is here to stay.

I cant use mice, due to tendentious.
My set up is based on mimicking the controller a good bit.
I use ASDW for move, then the buttons near them, QERF are my dpad for selecting things.
CNTRL, ALT Shift are practically my L and R controller modifiers.
My thumb is kept in the arrow keys as if it were a thumb stick.
my right hand on the num pad. Primary buttons i need to hit often and quickly (like oGCDs) arent modified.
lesser used skills, or non oGCDs are set to modifiers. (i play on PS4 now, so modifiers have a 10-20% failure rate, since PS4 sucks at input delay on keybords)
works pretty well for me.
i would use 1-0 more, if the buttons lined up perfectly, like they do on the num pad, but since they dont, i can only do 1+2 easily, and have a 75% accuracy hitting 3, and a 25% accuracy hitting 4 (which i do have abilities set to, and after all these years, still struggle with.) and 5 is impossible for me to hit more than 1% of the time. (have an ability set to 5. I have to manually look at my keybord in harder content, to make sure my finger hits it.)
I have wrist problems so 90% of the time I'm on keyboard, 8% of the time I'm on controller, and maybe 2% of the time I am on my mouse.
Like... mini cactpot. I use the mouse for that.
real man use IBM laptop mouse
*edit* how you guys post image btw? i try imgur and it just give me a broken image.

I only reach as far as 1-6, but I also use shift, and Q, e, r, f, g, z, x, c, and v as my keybinds, that way I don't have to stretch very far, depending on my hand position I use aswd, or the mouse to moveUntil a couple of months ago, I had no idea that clicking most of your skills isnt the "usual" way to play the game.
I move my character with WASD (obviously) can comfortably hit 1-4, with 5 being a bit of stretch on my keyboard. So... any skill that isnt on 1-5 gets clicked and its working quite well for me. I dont think I could get used to a mouse with an extreme amount of buttons (and I like my current mouse very much)...
Upload it to imgr but don't use the "Get share links" thing.
Instead just right click the image and select "Copy image location" which should give you the real URL like this one https://i.imgur.com/mewnyqK.gif. Then enclse it in [img] [/img] tags or click that green image button you see near the Bold, Italics, Underline section of formatting right above your typing box which should encase the URL for you.
