The players I have the most respect for?

I've clicked all of my skills ever since I started. It's just a lot easier for me than trying to mash buttons on the keyboard or using a controller. I have all of my skill placements in my muscle memory so I hardly ever need to look directly at my hotbars (unless I'm playing astro and I need to see my card actions) and my left hand is completely reserved for character movement. I don't have a fancy mmo mouse either, I just use left click for clicking actions and right click to move the camera lol

All you KB users are so odd to me. I need my analogs, one for character and the other for camera. ODDNESS to all who bind the camera to your character.. so your character ALWAYS faces forward. I couldn't do it. My camera has to be free of my character at all times.

Yeah I prefer controller's free form camera, but I hate that I can't look behind me....I'd have to download a third party program to bind keyboard keys to a controller button to allow the FFXIV keybind system to let me "flip camera." That's a huge problem.

It's weird because I cant stand the camera control on PS4. I've been using gaming mice and keyboards for over 10 years and the controls and camera especially on PS4 feel extremely clunky. It must be q preference thing.

I up my speed to max... but it's not the speed thing. It's when I see players who move like tanks. Like lets say both of us are in 3rd person in real life right. we both look left. I ONLY move the floating camera left... while you completely turn yourself completely left. THATS what gets me. I couldn't do it. I don't know how people play with their camera tied to their character. I need those apart at all times.

That honestly depends on what I'm doing in game. If I'm tanking and i need to see a mechanic or something at a differen't angle, I spin the floating camera (not the one that turns your character) 360 degree's so i can get a better view. Some people do only move the camera that controls your character. I do both depending on the situation or what I'm doing.

Sounds like you have the same setup I do. Where the camera and character are different and isn't tied to each other. If so then yay.

Camera control (Legacy):
If it was fast movement —> Mouse
Slow movement —> PS4 analog stick (Right)

Character control:
PS4 analog stick (Left)

Abilities and skills:
Keyboard keybinds + mouse buttons

Hated having to rotate my camera just to rotate my character so I could run from an aoe and because I rotated my camera I could no longer see the boss or what was happening. I want the camera to stay on the battle at hand while I move around like a lunatic with no problems.

Legacy controls are the only way for analogs so you made the right choice. May the light be with you.
