    Constant Disconnections

Okay, these past few weeks I've been experiencing random disconnections with error 90002 just flashing in my face non-stop. I can't even do Dungeons and Raids without getting disconnected. And its not like I can hop back in right away. When trying to log back in and select my character, I'm told that my character wasn't logged out properly or whatever, which then causes me to close the game a second time, log in and then finally hop back into the game. Just today alone I've been disconnected 4 times and its really frustrating because it isn't my internet connection. I ran tests and junk and everything is fine. I'm using a wired connection. I'm just really frustrated because now a game that I thoroughly enjoy is starting to just be a nightmare to play because of the fear of getting disconnected while doing content in the game. Shadowbringers releases very soon (June 28th Early Access for those that pre-ordered) and its gonna suck really really bad if this keeps happening. I just needed to hop on here and vent about this and maybe hear if anyone else is experiencing these issues.

    Its been a thing.

Theres many threads about it in the tech support forums, and they dont seem to have any idea why its happening.

I haven't had any issues. Its likely a problem network node between you and the servers. The "internet" probably works fine for you because most websites don't need constant reliable connections to load. The game requires a constant reliable connection, and your ISP probably doesn't care enough about 1 service to make sure all routes that you use to connect to different services are stable, and likely have no path optimization if a node goes down/becomes unreliable.

There's not really anything SE can do, and its probably not your ISP either. The internet infrastructure in the US is terrible, and ISP and Tier 3 internet backbone providers do nothing about it.

Honestly, search the internet for "FFXIV 90002" and see if some of the those fixes help

that's gonna take time because I'm seeing posts from various sites about this same issue from 5 years ago, bogus "install this to fix issues" crap and just not finding any real solution.

Do a tracert on the server you connect to to see if there are any bad hops, if you are able to pinpoint a hop where the connection times out or maxes you can copy down the address for that node. Best case you can just call up your ISP and request to be routed through a different node, though many will give you the run around and or say you need pay for that service, then your only other option is to use a VPN.

How do I find out the info needed to do the tracert?

I had this problem after 2 years of play, with the time the files become corrupt, it can come from a forced closure due to a bug or something else.

I had disconnections in the loop, after re-installation, I never had the problem.

It's a bit like Windows, if you're out of luck and Windows crashes when it's an important task, it can corrupt a system file.

I think you'll have a standard answer for your PC, and so on. And question your connection.

So the best thing is that you check if the problem does not come from your Internet provider, if you have no micro-cuts, you play on the net, just a mini-disconnection between your PC and SE's server so you're disconnected, and disconnected on FFXIV = back to the Windows desktop or PS4 interface.

And if that's not it, try to reinstall.

I think they should do Channels for towns, this way wander's who come in get put into different channels to fix some lag issues but allow people to change what channel they go to.

    only for towns though.
