    Timers For S Rank Hunts

    one of The main issues we have with S Rank hunts (specifically ARR S ranks) Are people who pull early. so I thought maybe we can have a timer (5m or so) on the hunt, and that way everyone has time to get there and not worry about someone pulling it early.

    I Really think this feature is needed now that we have people from other Servers
    that can just come and pull it just because (happens a lot now..) and then the people on that server miss out on the hunt.

    That would be pretty awesome. Usually the community is really good about policing itself and everyone is thoughtful of others, but it really only takes 1 dedicated person per data center to ruin every single hunt(I guess other than Mindflayer lol) and we have actually been experiencing this since the world visit system was implemented. That isn't a criticism of the system though, I think it's one of the most awesome things to happen to this game in years and really revitalized the hunt community.

    So the person who found the s-rank would pull immediately but wouldn’t be able to hit it for 5 minutes?

    I am not sure what I think about that. People could still snipe ARR and HW s-ranks - it would just take longer.

    On Diabolos at least hunts seem to be working pretty well at the moment, including organized and courteous a-rank trains as well as people waiting for SB s-ranks at least.

    However if they ever upgrade the hunt rewards and hunts become vastly oversubscribed again, as they have been in some patches, I would expect the anti-social behavior and griefing/griping to return.

    I think that instead of immediately spawning, the S ranks could just have a marker (Like footprints or some other sign of activity) show up where they are going to appear then actually spawn like five minutes later.

    Hunts are hunts. FATEs are FATEs. It was always be up to the community on how to handle Hunt by design. Then the question has to be ask, how old is old enough to let players just kill them? Can you really expect a level 80 to sit around waiting for 10 to 20 mins for everyone to gather to kill a level 50 A or S rank?

    As long as hunts continue to drop forms of currency that are relevant in the current era, I think it's always going to be considered "normal" to let people know when S ranks are around.

    A ranks are already regularly picked off by random people and the only reason it doesn't happen often for S ranks is because they generally don't show up by accident, plus all servers have hunters who make it a note to try to prevent that kind of thing from happening.

    In my experience, this wouldn't actually help what you have presented as the "problem" here.

    First of all, not all hunts are "landmined" or pop right in front of the player attempting to spawn. For most you have to perform the trigger and then go look for the hunt. Just finding the hunt would eat up a chunk of your proposed timer.

    Second, from what I've gathered, there are generally small groups of players that actually work on spawning S Ranks on each server. It's not generally a community effort to spawn. On my server, the S Rank spawn groups typically do an "inner circle" call first to ensure that other S Rank spawners who might be working on a different hunt mark have ample time to arrive, and then a mass call is done server wide through various hunt shells. So by the time the actual mass call goes out... it's possible this five minute timer is already gone.

    Finally, because of the nature of linkshells having a member cap, relays often get staggered through various shells. Just because one player has seen a call in their shell for the first time doesn't mean that the original call didn't go out 4 min ago. I believe this is why many hunts get perceived as "early pulls" when in actuality players just got a late calls in their hunt shells.

    Hunts are designed to be hunted, not farmed. There is no such thing as a early pull, and adding an invuln timer to them would defeat their purpose.
    I'm all for hunt trains and community effort, but I am not one to blame others for following the game design. Feel free to exclude them from your activities if you wish but don't expect people to never pull when they feel they are ready.

    hunts aren't supposed to be some kind of communistic thing where the whole server is supposed to share. it's straight up pure capitalism. first come first serve, no trickle down theory whatsoever. miss it? sorry, not sorry, try again next time.
