I don't think that's the point. The idea is that you're supposed to know the job you're playing and if not, that you are willing to take advices from other players. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Oh I agree. Maybe I just worded that badly. I mean anything past 50 is past the end of the first game.
I'm not saying that op shouldn't know their class. Honestly unless they know team comps and stuff they should just use Ifrit on sic anyway.

Right, my apologies then, I misunderstood that

At the same time different people learn at different rates I know when I started to have to swap between got hotbars on my controller it took me a lot of practice, yes some people catch on a lot faster than others but you can’t just tell them something and expect it to click unless it’s something super straight forward like “use flash to keep hate on a group of mobs” though granted that is something super basic

I mean summoner is a hard job to micromanage anyway. I don't suggest Garuda to new players unless they know how to use contagion anyway.

We are talking to use the proper pet for each situation too. OP said something along the lines of: "I prefer Garuda over Ifrit". I don't know the playstyle of the OP (to be fair I don't care, MSQ dungeons are easy enough), but not using the proper pet is something no one can defend.

It's like refusing to use AoE skills for no real reason.

Of course, I wholeheartedly agree with this.

All I'm saying is that you're expected to know the job you're playing. But if you make some mistakes or do not know some aspect of it, it is totally OK, as long as you're willing to listen to advices and get better in the end.

also if they say something like "you are doing low dps etc" ask them how they know it and if they say "parser" > you now have a valid reason for reporting them.
Don't really need a parser to tell if damage is low - you can easily get a feel for if it's overall low, normal, or fairly decent based on how quickly things die. If a pack of trash isn't dying quickly and you look over to see melee/ranged at full TP and casters using Fire IV/Ver-spell, it's fairly safe to say that the damage is pretty garbage.

"Difference in playstyle" is seen as a justifiable reason to be removed from a group by the devs, and seeing how they tried to give you advice before kicking and you ignored them to 'play your way' then that's even more reason in their favor. Sorry that happened but see it as a reason to improve.

Maybe look at some summoner guides so you understand how the job is meant to be played. This game doesn't really have 'playstyles'. The jobs aren't complex enough for that so if you're playing outside the norm most likely you're doing a poor job. Keep your experimental rotations to when you are by yourself, when you are in a group you need to think of the people you're playing with and not be selfish by gutting your performance with some made up playstyle.

Also pretty easy to tell if you just watch someone for a minute or so. Rotation tells all.
