They could resolve this issue with minimal impact to normal players by removing the gil drops from ARR dungeons, since they're just farming the trash mobs before the first boss.

Gil drops are already absent from HW/SB dungeons, so they're really just an archaic holdover from the game's earlier days.

Do you mean the Gil that drops from mobs, because I'm fairly certain you can still get Gil after killing trash in HW dungeons. Can't remember for SB, but I recall running the Vault not too long ago on an alt to level NIN, and I was receiving Gil after trash died.

I might've forgotten just because there's not that many HW dungeons with enemies that drop gil compared to ARR.
