    Lost everything due to not being able to afford to play & was told to go to feedback

    There isn't any feedback forum for the game or posting for an issue like this.

    My feedback isn't something complicated...I worked hard to get a house and decorate it and all. I wasn't around, reasoning aside, so I understand it getting demo'd so someone else could HAVE a house.

    My issue is that the sheer amount of items and gil I lost permanently because IRL I couldn't afford to play. Why is our stuff being deleted and not just mailed to us or something? This honestly feels worse then being hacked and then being told by devs it's my fault for not being able to afford to pay irl money for something.

    It's really demoralizing to have lost everything permanently because I couldn't afford to play for a little bit, I understand the house being demo'd but everything being deleted?

    This is pretty much crippling to me. I'm not max, and tbh (despite the MMOs I play and how long I've been playing) I'm trash at making money, and loosing this much is horrible. I've got virtually nothing left and can't really bounce back without starting over again.

    My feedback is simple;
    Find an alternative to deleting our stuff after demo'ing the house. Just mail it to us and call it a day. Why punish us, especially if we couldn't afford to play? Easily the worst feeling I've had from an MMO

    I've played a couple other MMOs with housing and they all had a "housing inventory" that could only be accessed from a house or an apartment but was permanent. If you lost your house due to inactivity or sold it, all your accumulated crap would go and sit there until you purchased another one or rented an apartment.

    Can't wrap my head around SE's decision to make it this cancerous in FFXIV. Maybe it was just to annoy players. Who knows? But the whole housing system as it is right now is garbage and nothing like it was promised, so, yeah. There's that.

    There's another thread going on about this very thing right now. The short answer is that when you have items in your house they're no longer tied to your character. They're tied to the plot. And the system can't differentiate between you and the person who bought your house after it was demolished.

    Because of that, the devs set the timer so that only one plot's worth of items is set for reclaiming at any one time. That way, if the person who bought your house after you ALSO gets their house demolished and goes to reclaim their stuff, they're not also getting yours as well. It sucks that the system isn't more sophisticated, and I'm sorry you lost your stuff, but that's what we have.

    They give you a total of 80 days to either rescue your house or get your things, and do everything in their power to warn you that it's going to happen. If there was absolutely no way you could afford the $12 for a single month's timecard to log in... their hands are tied. At least unless they completely revamp the system. Which I would not count on them doing at this stage of the game. Far more likely we'll have to wait for the next MMO to see the kinds of changes people have been howling for.

    I'm sure that's not the answer you wanted, but there it is. Hang in there, and good luck rebuilding!
