That part of the reason why it is possible for Trust to evolve into something that can be used for Past 2.0 to 4.X content since when 5.0 is released we are only getting the Starting version of the Trust System which will only work for 5.0 MSQ and above content.

It is also why there is a chance for future Trust Companions to be Unlockable ones since as the Trust System evolves we can expect it to become something a bit more than just "Only obtained from 5.0 and above MSQ".

Exactly. Whatever the trust system is now, it will evolve into much more. Especially if it becomes successful.
