The same thing the other two healers did since, let's see, forever.

Just my two cents:
1. Give Bane and Miasma back.
2. Biolysis should apply Bio II and miasma to the target, and also something akin to SMN ruin vulnerability, only for Broil.
3. AoW should be cheaper, targeted, and with a more “scholarly” animation - frankly it looks like an afterthought.
...and those are bare minimums in my opinion. While I appreciate the shiny new healing tools, Scholars have learned to play their class a certain way, one which favors a DPS-centered playstyle. The ShB version breaks something that didn’t need to be fixed.
Scholar main here, I have to say I'm super glad I have a friend who mains white mage. Gives me a reason to go and play something that isn't being gutted of all of its uniqueness. 5.0 dancer main here I come!
You bring joy to my heart. Almost a week after the job changes preview, you are the first message I see of someone who is not a healer at the moment that is considering trying it.
One point I've been trying to express on multiple platforms is that even if the changes play-and-feel good when Shadowbringers release, there is little to no "hype" for the healer roles prior to the expansion. This by itself is a failure of SE.
I've bought my copy of ShB. I'll play it. I'll even probably continue healing it. But I cannot say I'm excited for the expansion.

No offense, but such blind-faith support and attitudes like this are the reason WHY they don't care about healers. If SE knows we'll take it, then this is what they're going to keep doing to our jobs every chance they get.
At current, it is not mandatory to do so, the AI isn’t terrible for faeries and I know people who choose to not micromanage the pet. I see no issue somebody playing Scholar like this and it’s optional.
However, it will affect players like myself who enjoy that aspect.
Aww thx HahaYou bring joy to my heart. Almost a week after the job changes preview, you are the first message I see of someone who is not a healer at the moment that is considering trying it.

But I always keep at least one of every role maxed and my healer role has always been WHM simply because they don't have to shuffle cards around or manage a pet :3 if sch pet is gonna be fully independent, that speaks my interest considerably!

Thanks for helping make the FFXIV community a fun and welcoming place. If you're not sure you have (and you very likely have), make it a point to be patient or helpful the next time you log in so that you can know you've made a difference.
If you're on the Aether data center, congratulations! I might be your nextexciting adventurehealer in the Duty Finder. Please look forward to it.

It seems like it's time for Sacred Soil to shine. It was probably one of the least used parts of the toolkit for many Scholars including myself but now that we don't have energy drain and still want to avoid over healing it will definitely be the safe option in the lower level content before the Regen Trait kicks in. The fact it always had a chance to grant a MP free Succor made it seem like the devs thought we would be using it more and now we are kind of forced to if we want to dump stacks. I think the only way to truly cement it as part of the Scholars arsenal though is to give the mp gain we lost in Energy Drain to Sacred Soil. Getting that refresh would definitely make it a core part of our gameplay.

never was fond of the idea of micromanaging a pet.
