    SMN The Instant Mage ?

My fellow SMN's, I wanted to share some overlooked observations I don't see enough people talking about. If you really break it down, the small changes will have a huge positive impact on how SMN will play at 80. While the changes are still up in the air, I am really excited and hope they don't remove these changes. Below are my observations that will have a huge impact on summoner fun factor + DPS.

    Instant Dots for Days

With Tri-Disaster Cool Down coming down to 50 secs cd, 30 duration, and both Dreadwyrm/Firebird Trance resetting its timer for when you have the 20sec downtime, there were be limited situations where you will need to hard cast Bio & Miasma unless your clipping dots. Additionally, considering how important it will be to keep ruination up, why would you want to hard cast Bio and Miasma?

Festers & Baby Festers (Ruin IVs) For Days

With 4 Aetherflow stacks per min through energy drain (2 stacks every 30secs) and the ability to stack Further Ruins, we will have tons of OGCD Burst options for when we're outside of Dreadwyrm/Firebird. I love how they changed Ruin IV to be a slightly weaker version of Festers. Thank you SE!

    Instant Spells for Days

Dreadwyrm Trance/Firebird Trance will reduce our spells by 2.5 secs, effectively making them instant. 15 secs of instant spells every 60secs . Can't compliant about that.

    AoE Options For Days

Free Bane, Short Egi Assualt Cool Downs, Enkindle down to 2 mins, Suped up Outburst for consistent AoE (Goodbye Tri-bind, the old version was expensive and felt clunky for no reason), 4 PainFlares per min, 2 Akh Morn Per min, Burgeoning Flames x3 each min, and Revelations X2

Can't wait to try SMN at 80. How do you all feel about the upcoming changes?

Don't call attention to it. The Black Mages and Red Mages are threatened by us as it is.

When you go a good part of the expansion doing 98% of the damage of a BLM, while losing less damage hard casting resurrection than RDM does dual casting it, maybe there was an issue.

There will be no changes to the proportion of tri-disasters and miasma3/bio3 hardcasts in our rotation. Out of the 4 dot resets every 2 minutes, 3 will be tri-disaster and 1 will be a manual hardcast. This is exactly the same as Stormblood summoner.

More festers is kinda nice, but energy drain is also a worse version of aetherflow because if there's no target to hit, you can't generate charges. This will mean that on fights with many breaks like the current ultimates, you would probably have gotten more festers in the current system.

15s of instant spells every 60s is exactly the same as what we have now in Stormblood. In fact, you technically get more than that right now, an extra 20s to spam instants because you're 'forced' to use ruin2 when bahamut is active. In Shadowbringers that won't be the case and you will want to ruin3 when bahamut is active. So, we'll actually have shorter instant spamming periods in 5.0.

Our AoE does seem to be looking slightly better, so we have that going for us I suppose.

The most important change however is that in Shadowbringers the difference between ruin2 and ruin3 is now 70 potency. Currently, it's only 20 potency making using ruin 2 to weave ogcds extremely painless. In 5.0, using it carelessly for movement when you could've cast ruin3 will put a severe dent in your dps, and it means you also pay a higher penalty when using it to weave ogcds (you still want to, of course). As you can clearly see from the above, summoners are definitely not getting any better in the 'instant' department in 5.0.

We still don't know whether we will have the 15% Ruin IV chance on Egi autoattack or not, but if that happens to be the case, I don't see the above being a problem. 4 Initial charges with 30 sec CD Egi Assaults...followed by the 15% egi autoattack trait, Ruin IV will be literally raining down the skies. Not accounting for the fact every time a Ruin IV procs the 30 second usage of them is reset. I know all this stuff is subject to change but if it ends up being like this I can't imagine it being any more user friendly.
