typically, they are also very used to being tasked to, as you say *fight* in order to get issues resolved so it's a much better fit.
The way I see it, the secondary pool isn't responsible for actually implementing the ideas, and it seems to me they are just there to get a fresh set of eyes on the design. Someone who isn't in the weeds every day to point out the glaring problems, for when the actual developers miss the forest for the trees

Moreover, you should want to get testers of all skill levels, not just high-performance DPS and low performance Tanks and Healers. You should be able to identify both the bottom line and the top line and be able to understand what goes on between them.

Relying on QA for consistent high end feedback is iffy at best because of the way QA testing teams are pooled and shared between projects at large publishers. Not to mention that the main QA teams will be somewhat isolated from the core developers.

Bumping this back up again just to show how little FFXIV develops know about the state of healing in their own game.

It makes absolutely no sense. This game is the backbone of their revenue a literal golden goose they treat like a red headed step child.

The combat is stale. How many times can you run and grab mobs and burn them down?

And even that I could deal with if healers was on par w the other classes but they’re not. I would have more fun if the took the pvp style combat and made that pve. That’s how boring playing a healer has become.

It’s disappointing they won’t address it. But maybe one day they will. Also I’d like my card diversity back. But really the whole combat system needs an overhaul

Honestly I think the game is just coasting with post pandemic momentum in regards to subscriber numbers. I'm still subbed but I barely play, having mostly moved to single player games for now. I still LIKE XIV, I'm still active enough to be in an FC and keep my housing but I barely do any content besides crafting/gathering as I find pretty much all aspects of the battle system rather stale and repetitive at this point. Don't get me wrong, there's good bones here however I feel it's time for a shakeup within the design team, they've gotten complacent and for me at least, the magic is gone. Now, off to Baldur's Gate with me.

Question for Arrhin: Do you see yourself playing Baldur's Gate 3 through 2028?

I rarely return to a single-player game, let alone come back 2-4 years after release. I'm more likely to read a book all the way through more than once, but once I've "beat the game" it's pretty much "can I get my son to take this for resale sometime soon?"

Question wasn't aimed at me but I replayed Divinity: Original Sin 2 just last year, that game is from 2017.
Proper RPGs with build and playstyle variety have a lot of replay potential, especially if your choices can also influence how the story plays out.

It's only single player games that rely heavily on their linear story and offer little else that are a one-and-done deal, because what else is there to experience?

Also not aimed at me but:

A lot of people do the exact same thing with this game: beat the expansion, do the raid, quit until next raid tier (or in some cases, until the next expansion). And then, like any single player game that gets a big expansion DLC, they return to try that new content and the cycle repeats. Nothing wrong with that approach, but just pointing out that 'do you see yourself playing X singleplayer game in 5 years time' doesn't really land when many players have the same approach to FFXIV

Besides, there's people that still play old single player games for various reasons, be it speedrunning or just love of that specific game. How many people still go back and play one of the old Zelda games, or decide to blast a run of Super Mario World/SM64 just for the heck of it, not even as a speedrun, just cos they're good games?

    Challenge runs!

Take a look at just Pokemon challenge runs. Like my god. I can't imagine playing a game that many times, but at the same time I see the appeal. And some people just don't get that bored.

I'm tired of being told to wait for post-patches and expansions for fixes and increased healing requirements that are never coming. Healers are not fun in all forms of content like all jobs should be, they're replaced by tanks and dps due to low healing requirements and their dps kit is small for 0 reason, when in the past we had more options and handled things just fine. I refuse to play healer in roulette come DT. I refuse to heal EXs, I refuse to go into Savage, and I am boycotting Ultimate.
