Super happy with the direction SMN is taking!

I’m really impressed with the devs commitment to cleaning up and streamlining the Egi’s while still giving us more cool Demi-Summons in the form of Phoenix. Changing the egi actions into Egi Assault seems like a great step to making them less clunky. Reducing the time it takes to summon Bahamut is also great. All we need now is an ability or trait in 6.0 that lets us turn our Egi’s into Demi versions then SMN would be absolutely perfect! Good job devs, I’m really excited to play Summoner in 5.0.

To be honest they should've made a rotation that just alternated between phoenix and bahamut and delete the ugly potato looking egis already. Nobody would miss them.

Yeah I wouldn’t miss the Egi’s at all either. Judging by the bigger focus on Demi-Primals recently let’s hope they just upgrade Egi’s to Demi versions in 6.0 or scrap them entirely.

(I would. I love carbuncles since I was level 2 summoner. And the way they take enmity from me... And attack targets even when I cannot... or spreading damage on more targets to better utilize mass dots)

I really hope they keep the egi’s. Everyone complaining about them upsets me because I love having mine around for roleplaying and fun. All these years I’ve wanted them to ass Shiva, Leviathan, and Ramuh and I haven’t given up on that. You can all say you want summoners to be ‘summoners’ but my favorite system of summoning was the one in 10, where they stayed on the battlefield with you for the fight. I would’ve liked it even more if they walked around with you like they do in 14. Maybe as a role player I’m in a minority of some kind, but that’s truly how I feel.
