    All of this looks much like personal opinions, not a general Feeling of the Community. Most people are beyond hyped for the new Dark knight and it will porbably be the most played Tank at the start of the Addon beside Gunbreaker. Warriors will be few simply because they didnt get anything new. The animations and skills they got are all recycled from old skills or 3.0 PvP.

    Paladins: yeah well Paladins are just Boring. The whole Class or Jobfantasy behind it is boring and it didnt help that Paladins were FORCED and YES i mean FORCED to play offtank the entirety of stormblood because of enmity issues.
    So i think Dark knight will be overplayed till the hype died down a bit.

    I assume it will look like this regarding tanknumbers: DRK, GNB, WAR, PLD

    Err what. Are those people's personal opinion not part of the community too? Most of the people here who put out argument about DRK has played for 4 years since HW. I mean look at delirium for DRK it's the only skill among the 2 other tanks that has TOTALLY changed for 2 TIMES!! The devs do not know what to do with that skill at all.

    When people begin to connect that EoS and FoS are actually just buffed versions of Dark arts and Dark Passanger and can maintain Darkside without thinking about it by just not overcapping mana, I think people will realize that this dark knight is basically Stormblood dark knight slowed down with a new dot called living shadow. Its all flash no content.

    It was not the pulling tank but it could MT fine, it just had the most utility in the OT role.

    These numbers are not final, and also based on calculations, and Emiin doing spreadsheets for all the tanks, but right now it does not appear to be in this order at all. But numbers are not the point of my post, the point of my post is playstyle.

    General feeling of the community, sure. But anyone who cares enough about DRK to discern how it will play, and not just look at its animations, has realized that it's going to be dull and boring in ShB as things are now.

    Took a look at the dark knight numbers and notes, there are several overestimates, and some of them are noted just below the body of the post but not corrected in the calculations. Take with a massive grain of salt and of course everything is subject to change.

    Of course that's why I linked the thread, not the image. It's all up for grabs. There are differences in tooltip potency between JP and English and a million other issues. Nothing is set in stone, but it's looking promising for what we have available.

    All we can hope is se doesnt screw it up before release.

    I had a bit of a kneejerk reaction those last two days about ShB Dark Knight, but I'm a bit over it now. Taking some time to actually think more about the changes made, how the kit works and synergize with itself, made me be mostly fine and actually curious to try the job.

    I actually like Edge/Flood being a less convoluted Dark Arts, basically our Shinten, and the concept of Darkside is good even if it seems almost impossible to drop it by the look of it. TBN is even stronger than what it was during stormblood and having our buff windows aligning more with other raid buffs feels better. The defensive kit is good, Living Dead is the usual suspect, but it's not like we were asking Square to change it/make it less punishing for 4 years by now. Dark Missionary is fine, it's a straight weaker Heart of Light, but the majority of raid AOEs being magic make it fine. The nerf to Dark Mind is a bit unnecessary tyo me, but the TBN buff is more than enough to make me go "Whatever...". Fray is basically a desguised DoT, but it's really flashy and really strong (apparently ~400 potency per hit, 7 hits, so ~2800 potency). Ressource management is still here, and that's something I always liked about DRK. It's playstyl should not change that much to what Stormblood has used us to, just... way less APM heavy.

    That's the real thing I'm still sad about, I liked being the highest tank APM (apparently this title should now goes to GNB) and I liked Blood Weapon having a haste effect. I don't really like Delirium being a IR-like button, I would prefer to have a more unique burst mechanic than simply "spam your heaviest hit 5 time" like IR and Requiescat already are (and at least Paladin got a finisher to it, a little thing but still something). I can accept it, but it's really the skill I'm the most "meh" about. The next thing I'm a bit sad is Fray having no interraction or synergy with us in any way. The last element I don't dig is the ressource generation being a bit too low to my taste, because mana gain is directly linked to our APm through Edge/Flood.

    So if I had to change a few things to the new kit, whitout talking about potencies and such:
    - Blood weapon : Make it so that all offensive actions (weapon skill, abilities, autos) count towards ressource gain. With this change, using Blood Weapon while invoking Fray would make it generate ressource, a welcome interaction with our kit.
    - Delirium : Make it unique. I would love it to be a GCD-haste thing, like a way more punchier old-Blood Weapon, reducing our GCD by 30% for exemple? It's just and idea, I don't really know if it would work well, if you would still put mana generation bonus to it, or give it something like a crit bonus? But, the idea is really to make it more unique.
    -Ressource gemanagement : Blood generation seems mostly fine, but I would love to have a bit more MP generation, it seems a bit undertune to me. Also, Darkside being a timer is a good idea on paper, but having each Edge/Flood add 30s to the timer seems to make it really easy to maintain. To compensate that we would have more mana, meaning more Edge, lower the timer bonus to 15sec for exemple.
    - Having a period of haste in our rotation : I've touched the topic a bit, but yeah, I really miss the haste effect of HW/SB Blood Wepon. If it's not on Delirium, it could be on another skill, Blood Weapon or Carve and Spit or whatever. Just... I like being a fastboye dammit ! ;^;

    It's just some rambling. I would love to have another combo finisher, but I don't really know how we could add it without copying PLD and it being a dot, or copying WAR and it being a bonus effect to maintain (Darkside is already that in a way). So I'm not proposing any change since I try to have the DRK keeping some identity.

    All in all, after my initial kneejerk reaction of it not being the same and not going into the direction I would have loved the job to go, I must repeat that I'm curious to try this new DRK. It is slower, it is less APM heavy, but there are some good ideas. It's really not all Doom and gloom at all. If the numbers are tuned well when ShB release, I can see DRK being fun in its own "new" way. I will have feedback after playing it for sure. o/

    Unfortunately it isn’t new. It’s copy and paste of 4.x warrior IR without the crit buff and with a DOT, as has been mentioned. I want to be excited after all this time but SE is either too scared to do something that challenges the supremacy of WAR (as demonstrated by with the unwillingness to address invul abilities in interview) or after all the post on the topic of DRK reworks simply doesn’t care and in fact is NOT listening. WOW has, in part, gone down hill because of this. It’s disappointing as of yet even without having played the class but comparing what we have so far to other tanks. I’m hopeful but not overly optimistic based on recent history of this job after HW.
