Can I queue for a Duty, then switch jobs while I wait?

As the title says, can I queue for the Duty Finder as, say, a lancer, then while I wait, switch to another job and play that? And if so, do I switch back to lancer before or after I accept the Duty (click the Commence) button.

Hi

When you queue for Duty Finder, you can change job in between to play with while you wait, but you will have to change back to the job you chose for the Duty Finder when it starts.

Remember thought that you can't change jobs while in a fight, so if you're fighting something while in another job than the one chosen for the Duty Finder, you will have to run away to change jobs (and if you can't, you might miss the Duty, so careful !)

You just need to be back on the job you queued as before before clicking "Commence".

If you need a moment to do so --like if you're in combat or crafting at the time-- that's why the DF notification window also has a "Wait" button. It won't wait for long, so you need to be quick about it, but that will momentarily minimize the pop-up to a small box in your notification window. Once you're ready and back on the job you queued with, you can click there to bring the DF notification window back up and click "Commence".
