Will we ever see this story expanded or explained, or is Odin just sort of there? Asking because I miiight have a last name Odinsdottir. Woof.

It is expanded on more in different areas of the game.
We actually know several conflicting stories about Odin now, so it's more going to come down to which one is true.
O-App-Pesi studied ancient writings that said Odin killed Urth and her followers and was defeated by an Allagan hero. We ALLEGEDLY face this hero's spirit, but more likely it was just a random voidsent ghost and deliberate misinformation.
Later we find Allagan writings that say Urth defeated Odin with her death, sealing him in the spring. Yet more writings suggest that Odin was in fact summoned by Urth and her followers in the first place, and that he continues searching for her to this day.
Some writings say Zantetsuken was a primal from the northern lands who took his sword from an Au Ra who was the first to scratch his hitherto unblemished armor. And yet recent events would have us believe Zantetsuken was actually a creation of the primal Eureka.
Perhaps it's all true.
Perhaps Urth led a faction of Allagan rebels who accepted a Eurekan weapon and gave it to her general. Or Odin was a true champion who slew the weapon's original owner and became enthralled to it himself. Perhaps Odin then harried the Allagans in this role, slaying the summoner Wiyu before Urth's followers realized what he had truly become and tried to undo their mistake.
Or perhaps Zantetsuken predates Eureka and inspired people to summon a primal that would create weapons like it. In the late Third Astral Era, people would have abandoned belief in divine forgemasters like Byregot so maybe that's why the primal just looks like an ADS node that grants wishes.
It may be a while before we learn the truth.
EDIT: I don't know which of you are liking my posts before I even write them but I'm honored you have this kind of faith in me, lmao.

It's me! ^_^
I live for Odin lore. I want the story to be finished. Personally I think he was there to defend Urth, but the sword prevented him and drove him mad. Where in Eureka is the Zantetsuken story bits? THANK YOU

Krile speculates about it directly because Ejika's weapon is so much like Zantetsuken, and then one of the bosses mentions Odin by name. You can also get the Shin-Zantetsuken glamour there.

I do like the interpretation of Eureka being what an Allagan Primal would look like since for the Allagans... ADS Node type things would be heavily tied to creation and manufacturing.
Why not make an ADS Node that can make anything if it has access to enough aether?
I agree. I think that there was definitely some sort of connection between the two. I do have a question though. Urth will have long passed on by the time we see Odin in game. And if Odin really did have something to do with Lady Urth's death then that really begs the question. Why is Odin looking for Urth? Is he looking for her grave? To make amends? Or does Odin seem to think she's alive somehow?
Dang it, I want a definitive answer and a conclusion to this mystery! XD Personally, I'm inclined to agree with your opinion that Odin was a champion of sorts and wield the sword.
We all like your posts before you write them, Moose. We know it is going to be awesome. Personally I'm in the all true camp. There was an Odin and a Zantetsuken so when Eureka made a sword looking like that it was also named Zantetsuken and the wielder named Odin cause of course Odin wields Zantetsuken.
I love the slow buildup of story for him. He is easily my favorite primal.
