Job suggestion!

Foebane/Foebreaker/Foehammer

Role:Melee DPS. Armor:Maiming Weapon: 2 handed Hammer.

Job Gauge: Break! When the break Gauge fills it gives you access to high potency weaponskills and abilities for a short duration.

Skills would include another version of trick attack, maybe called bone break. (Wouldn't stack with TA) so that way NIN has some competition.

Cooldowns, one would be a haste cd with a 60-120 sec recast time. and another would be a slow, and a melee version of hotshot..but an ability with a 30-60 sec recast and a 10-20 sec duration

The goal of the Job would be to get that break meter filled and then push as much damage out as you can during that short duration.

I know it isn't all there..but I am not a designer and this is something that came along in a discord I thought could actually work.

Reminds me a bit of Kalise's Viking:

This is part of a series of Nautical themed Job ideas I have been thinking about for each role.

Today's one is Viking (VIK)

Role: Melee DPS

Weapon of Choice: Greathammer

Job Gauge: Consists of a Dual Gauge system. One named Thunder and the other named Lightning.

The Lightning Gauge is built up using melee attacks and allows the use of Lightning magicks to deal devastating bursts of damage.

While the Thunder Gauge is built up using Lightning magicks and enhances your melee attacks with additional Lightning damage, at the cost of increasing their MP cost.

MP will be able to be regained by using a skill called Downburst which will expend the entirety of the Thunder Gauge to deal damage and replenish MP.

Gameplay: The general idea is to have a slower style but hard hitting mDPS class that has a natural ebb and flow to its power, with emphasis on MP management to create burst opportunities as well as maintaining sustained output.

On the point of both I think a two-handed melee weapon that isn't bladed is about time :3.

Could be neat to capture some of the lumbering destroyer archetype- perhaps mixed in with that sudden burst of hulk speed as part of the burst concept you've both put forward ("oh yeah big and scary but very slo-- OMG WHY IS IT MOVING SO FAST, WE'RE SO DOOMED"). lol .

Some imagery of that reminds me of Crusader / Diablo 3 (slow-ish but has a few skills that then bring it in like an angry holy wrecking ball).

I like it, but to me a viking should duel wield axes and be super berserky hit fast and hard. Good concept tho!
