The worst thing SE could have done to crafting was make Standard Synthesis have an increased durability loss rate. Standard Synthesis used to allow me 0-20 durability loss, with 0-8 on successful attempts, and 9-20 on failed attempts, now I get 10-12 loss on almost every attempt, success or fail. I have just failed 4 of 5 attempts on a synthesis leve with a recipe that I did many times before 1.21 was released, and the only reason I failed was the base durability loss on every attempt.
