Please take a moment to eat, hydrate and take care of yourself! Thank you, Adventurer! See you online!
If I had the expendable income, I would ABSOLUTELY bet money on this happening. Unquestionably. I wouldn't even have to print this post out and hide it under my pillow for it to come true. It's going to happen. If it doesn't, I'm giving away most of my gil.
Anyway. WHM just got more of the same, which is what nobody wanted but everyone expected. It's getting kind of sad at this point. I wonder what WHM mains of the future see, on the cusp of 6.0? At this point the safest hope would MAYBE be SE knocking the new lily skills off the GCD. It wouldn't be a god-tier buff but it would make Misery that much better. Presence of Mind AoE, or perhaps something that comes off PI? A distant dream... a sweet lie. But this could be the turning point where SE actually listens!

Not sure where you get that from the quote, but I will clarify in case my wording was poor:
If you really, really, liked WHM in 4.x and had no real wishlist for significant changes, then from what has been show so far, there is a really good chance you will like the preview of 5.0. Not a guarantee, but I mean it's the spirit of 4.x continued and expanded into 5.0 for WHMs.
If you did have a wishlist for a change of direction or new aspects added to WHM for 5.0, like added raid utility, there is a decent chance you will have some level of disappointment.
If you mained something else like a SCH or AST, there's a decent chance you might be upset based on the reaction erupting over the info drop.
These are just based on what I've observed from these forums, REDDIT, Twitter, etc., plus, well, the fact that WHM is not getting a huge overhaul, especially compared to SCH and AST.
Thanks for helping make the FFXIV community a fun and welcoming place. If you're not sure you have (and you very likely have), make it a point to be patient or helpful the next time you log in so that you can know you've made a difference.
If you're on the Aether data center, congratulations! I might be your nextexciting adventurehealer in the Duty Finder. Please look forward to it.

The simplest, most straightforward changes they could make would be the following two:
1) PoM is a party haste buff, damage buff, or some such thing OR Afflatus Misery applies a vuln up debuff
2) Both Afflatus heals are ogcd
That would be the simplest way to address our concerns. Would this make WHM insanely OP? It would not, given the insanity we've seen from SCH for an entire expansion. Fully twice the SCH parses were recorded on fflogs compared to WHM for this last tier. If you overpower WHM for a patch, fine...adjust it down next patch. What we do know beyond a shadow of a doubt is WHM is looking at the exact same issues this expansion as we've had through SB without an adjustment.

If they keep doing this after Expac hits and don’t give WHM what it NEEDS to be competitive, how about we delete WHM? Would it be that difficult if you only have two powerhouse Healers with incredible synergy between each other, just with one not bringing any cake?
This is a sad reality if the current state makes it into the expansion.
^sadly it wont happen, some people actually happy with it

I mean they may as well delete WHM at this point. It offers nothing useful to the raid outside of casting heals and guess what, a friggin AI fairy can do that. There's nothing engaging or desired that the job brings.
I'm happy with a lot of the changes on this end for WHM. The lack of a raid wide buff makes me iffy though. But if WHM ends up top personal DPS in raids with AST at the bottom due to the card changes, it could bring WHM into the meta. That's of course assuming a lot of things and we'll have to find out at launch.
It's rather funny, I'm seeing SCH and AST players say the same thing about deleting their jobs.

*sigh*
Deleting WHM is not any kind of feasible solution. Especially with arguments like an AI fairy is enough to support a full 8-man raid. Many WHM mains, myself included would be heart broken if it was deleted. Even some who don't play WHM at all would be disheartened and upset by this change.
I don't use WHM in higher end content because of its lack of utility, but this doesn't mean I don't enjoy playing the job. On the same token, just because I enjoy the job doesn't mean it is devoid of shortcomings. I can say the reverse for AST. It brings TONS of utility and is a powerhouse healer, yet I can't stand it and don't use it for anything. That ties into the job's design, and just because it's been buffed to the freakin moon doesn't mean I am going to enjoy playing it.
In short, saying the job isn't engaging or doesn't have anything that is desired isn't necessarily true. What is true is WHM doesn't bring anything that AST and SCH doesn't have themselves, plus the other healers can also increase rDPS. It is for that reason alone that they have been left out in the cold since late HW, which in itself is also an issue in the healing community.

Whm came out the most unscathed (Aero 3 loss while painful is partially made up with an arguably better holy in large packs) so that's good. Though without DPS raid utility I'm not sure how WHM can ever be meta. Our DPS seems good on paper now but any slight buff to SCH or AST (and let's not kid ourselves, those buffs are coming) will push out Whm again and leave us in the same position as before. With Rapture and Solace now was a good time to change Tetra or Plenary into some raid utility, not to mention PoM. I don't see us ever getting do utility so while I'm happy with how Whm came out I still don't see us doing that well outside of casual content.
As a side note I think with the new Plenary we can proc that multiple times, but with Rapture, Assize, and Cure 3 I see absolutely no reason to proc it more than once. It would have been nice if Plenary proc'd with any heal instead (or became a raid utility like seriously why is it not one already?).
