No ammo, No Overheat damage, no bishop or Rook turrets, no Invul Debuff,
it looks super random and unorganized so curious how the best approach would be to play it. I really don’t get the hate for 4.0 MCH some things did legit bug me like how wildfire wouldn’t detonate on command, and the downtime after a overheat felt clunky.
They should’ve gotten rid of heat all together since it poses no real threat of overheating and as far as we know doesn’t do damage when overheat and doesn’t even overheat at 100, even freaking flamthrower doesn’t generate heat and flamethrower is kinda not that powerful to begin with compared to Spread spam. These changes are conflicting To me tbh and as a MCH main im sure everyone will disagree but that’s fine
iam the opposite, it look clean and organized now.
overheat state is now use to unleash skill, far better than "you are stronger for 10 seconds, but after that you are weaker for 10 seconds" randomness.
wildfire is now based on how much you use weaponskill instead of how much damage you put into it.
a little letdown turret/robot only there for 20s but thankfully we can spam it, so it just extra button to press instead of press it and leave it.
no more stupid 50% proc for our 123 combo, now it will always proc to next skill.
it simple yes but now its more straightforward
I really enjoyed Machinist. I hope that I will like the new changes once I get to play this latest incarnation.
Literally every incarnation of MCH in each expansion has been radically different, so I have some hopes
I assume Wildfire is still meant to be coupled with Overheat so you can spam the heck out of the skill with a one second GCD to maximize the former's damage while also allowing for more uses of Gauss Round/Ricochet.
Machinist looks even clunkier now.
Ping issues are still there, mainly because they decided to keep the 1.5 second GCD, but extend it to the whole Overheat window. I think it would have been so much better if they made Heat Blast a off GCD that you could use in between your 1-2-3 while in Overheat.
Also, the Queen Automata looks like it takes around 5 seconds to actually start doing damage.
New Wildfire kinda makes Reassemble... Useless? I know damage is damage, but I feel that with the new version of Wildfire, there is no optimization to Reassemble itself, just use it whenever and it's fine.
Those are the things I think they should reconsider about Shadowbringers Machinist. As a MCH main since 3.3, I was hoping to have a expansion were MCH would actually not have issues... But right now it looks like Shadowbringers won't be that expansion.
It's totally a different job now they butchered 60% of its sb rotation, might as well rename it to *RobotMaster* or *GundamBreaker* or *TheTerminator* or *ThePotatonator*
