I might've replied to another one of your posts elsewhere, but on the offchance I haven't I'll just reiterate here. DPSing and especially the DPS toolkit for healers is very important. On par with the healing toolkit to be honest. The reason for that is that even in ultimate you're DPSing about 80% of the time so it represents a huge chunk of your gaming experience. Besides we both know they will never ramp required healing up to that level.
To come back to the subject at hand we can look at WHM gameplay and it's shortcomings over the past two (four?) years. One of the biggest sticking points is that they essentially have nothing to weave around and nothing to weave in. This results in a lot of clipping the GCD and casting an instant dot then sitting around doing nothing until the GCD becomes available again. It plays very poorly as a result. Some may argue that as the beginner healer class the slower pace may be welcome. But other more experienced healers are essentially hating the lack of flow of the class and how clunky it feels. It's really hard to play AST/SCH and then go back to WHM. The gameplay feels broken.
SCH gameplay is essentially being relegated to having to clip and wait on gcd like WHM. It's not AS bad because we still retain some form of mobility thanks to ruin II, but it's a still a huge downgrade. And for what? We got more healing power we didn't need. It's just added padding for those that would initially struggle. Sure, good players will find great ways to optimize the toolkit but then you basically free up even more time to return to your broken DPS rotation. It's all very grim and quite frankly very disappointing considering everyone here were expecting them to fix this issue with WHM.. Not downgrade SCH to it.
And that's just the clunkiness. The fact we have less management as a whole is basically a huge downgrade in terms of optimization and fun for many. Basically these changes are good for the devs and players who aren't very good/experienced at/with healing. Others are left on the sidelines.
