So... I am kinda excited for these tank changes for Shadowbringers, but I can't help but feel tanks now are almost fully homogenized, and choice of what tank to play now is just based off of Job name and how the skills look.

I mean, for example:
  • all tanks have 20% DR and 20% health increase
  • all tanks have a 1-2 aoe builder with 3 aoe spender
  • all tanks have an ogcd ultimate attack cooldown
  • all tanks have a gap closer
  • all tanks have an aoe party buff
  • all tanks have a single target party memeber dr skill (like Cover)
  • all tanks have 20% dr skill
  • all tanks tank stance are ogcd and generate enmity
  • all tanks have had their basic enmity combos removed (would've loved to have kept BB or SP)
  • all tanks have a 30% 2 min cd
  • all tanks have a cheat death cd
  • all tanks can be MT
  • all tanks can be OT
  • all tanks can tank all things
  • all tanks seem to have the same amount of self-healing

I am sure there is more, but these are just off the top of my head.

Currently in Stormblood, I feel tanks are pretty homogenized as is as well (especially after the last WAR rework).

I think the time it felt the least was when WAR had the changes to BG but not to SiO (just removed negative effects). I enjoyed the idea that WAR was a selfish DPS tank role, PLD was a party group mitigator, and DRK kinda sat in-between each.

FYI: I am not saying this is bad for the game in anyway, I mean, in a way it's kinda healthy for players who would prefer to play one Job over the other, but when they all feel the same?

IDK, am I in the minority here about this? I think I am. I feel like I might be over reacting... I mean, my baby Inner Beast is now just a shitty oGCD dps tool... I feel sad all of a sudden
