They may as well just delete SCH at this point. Pet management is now nearly non-existant, DPS has been nerfed into unusability, there's nothing to the class anymore besides "Press the big heal or AoE heal as the fight demands."

They may as well just delete WHM at this point. Raid utility is (and has been for a few expansions) non existent. Anything that truly made it unique was taken away and given to other healers. There's nothing to the class anymore besides, "Press the big heal or AoE heal as the fight demands."
I get that SCH has been severely gutted (again) for the start of an expansion, and I'm not trying to say that they're fine how they are with what we know (they're not). My point in changing the quote is to show that healers as a whole aren't in a great place. I had hoped that SE would learn from the past. I should have known better. I'll cross my fingers and hope that they at least learned how to fix things faster than in the past. Until then, I'll be learning a DPS class. Man, that trust system is looking pretty nice to get through MSQ about now.

That's not inaccurate at all, both could be removed and the playerbase would not shed a tear. They may as well just delete WHM at this point. Speak for yourself, SCH is the only healer that drew my attention at all compared to WHM and AST.
Removing it (or both for your analogy) causes a LOT of extended queue times for those who don't play AST and just makes the game even less engaging than anything a developer could do in an "Early Preview" state like we have now with ShB.
Wait till the expansion drops in full before crying doomsday, this happens everywhere and 9/10 times it's never as bad as was doomsayers proclaimed off a preview.
Well, at least I'm trying...
Have you been around for Stormblood launch? Because it was every bit as bad as predicted, and this is going in exactly the same direction, with stupid choices all around.Speak for yourself, SCH is the only healer that drew my attention at all compared to WHM and AST.

As a scholar main since Heavensward, here's my two cents. You're all bitching over nothing, genuinely.
Scholar has always been the strongest healer, period. Shields are just overpowered in a game with little utility options. Damage prevention > damage healed. And they aren't weak healers at all (really confused me when they said that on the livestream) Swiftcast, ETactics, Succor, Indom can easily full heal a party in one global with healthy crit.
Who cares bane is gone? If you're complaining about your dps, you don't understand the healer role. Broil is a filler spell, DoT's give us something to track to increase the complexity. I couldn't care less if we can't bane trash mobs anymore because the boss fights are what matter.
And the loss of energy drain is curious, I'll grant you. However, they are reworking mana use for the ENTIRE game. We have no idea yet how that factors in. Energy drain has probably become redundant.
Now for observations, there have been big boosts across the board. If you hadn't noticed, galvanise has been BUFFED and now doesn't interact as harshly with astro. Big thumbs up here. Sacred soil has been BUFFED. We can use these spells in ways we couldn't before, they have higher priority.
With the way things are looking, potency's increasing and what not, I'm hoping there'll be more focus on healing so healers can do their job more consistently. I want to be focusing on mechanics, I want to be prepping spells for big hits, I don't want to be stood there watching Bio run out and hitting broil until a tank buster.
TL;DR: You're all getting in a twist over nothing, Scholar's looking the best it's ever been.

~ WHM / badSCH / Snob ~ http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/character/871132/ ~
That you would even bring healing up is a good sign you're missing the mark. And if you think we can't evaluate a rotation or how clunky a playstyle will be.. I don't know what to say. We've had WHM for years now, we can just use that as a basis since we're basically simplified down to their level now.

I mean, they could just replace healers entirely with a potent regen effect, since making the numbers go back up is all healers do now.Speak for yourself, SCH is the only healer that drew my attention at all compared to WHM and AST.
