Is it just me, or are tanks in ShB looking very homogenized?

So... I am kinda excited for these tank changes for Shadowbringers, but I can't help but feel tanks now are almost fully homogenized, and choice of what tank to play now is just based off of Job name and how the skills look.

    I mean, for example:
    • all tanks have 20% DR and 20% health increase
    • all tanks have a 1-2 aoe builder with 3 aoe spender
    • all tanks have an ogcd ultimate attack cooldown
    • all tanks have a gap closer
    • all tanks have an aoe party buff
    • all tanks have a single target party memeber dr skill (like Cover)
    • all tanks have 20% dr skill
    • all tanks tank stance are ogcd and generate enmity
    • all tanks have had their basic enmity combos removed (would've loved to have kept BB or SP)
    • all tanks have a 30% 2 min cd
    • all tanks have a cheat death cd
    • all tanks can be MT
    • all tanks can be OT
    • all tanks can tank all things
    • all tanks seem to have the same amount of self-healing

I am sure there is more, but these are just off the top of my head.

Currently in Stormblood, I feel tanks are pretty homogenized as is as well (especially after the last WAR rework).

I think the time it felt the least was when WAR had the changes to BG but not to SiO (just removed negative effects). I enjoyed the idea that WAR was a selfish DPS tank role, PLD was a party group mitigator, and DRK kinda sat in-between each.

FYI: I am not saying this is bad for the game in anyway, I mean, in a way it's kinda healthy for players who would prefer to play one Job over the other, but when they all feel the same?

IDK, am I in the minority here about this? I think I am. I feel like I might be over reacting... I mean, my baby Inner Beast is now just a shitty oGCD dps tool... I feel sad all of a sudden

No, not really. At least not significantly more than we have for a long time.

-All tanks had 20% mitigation/HP before.
-AoE there was a slight homogenization as they gave all tanks a combo AoE, whereas before all tanks had AoE, but DRK had more.
-The high damage burst skills are similar but different. Before, DRK had Bloodspiller while WAR had Fell Cleave.
-All tanks having a gap closer is a GOOD THING.
-All tanks had more or less a 30% mitigation before (PLD had Sentinel, DRK had Shadowskin or whatever, etc).
-All tanks had a cheat death mechanic before, and none really changed.
-All tanks could be MT before.
-All tanks could be OT before.
-All tanks could tank all things before.

Really, the only significant additional homogenization was the Party-wide mitigation and the single target mitigation.

    I think it's just you.

GNB has its alternative to Clemency, an oGCD regen called Aurora, but it can only be used once unlike Clemency. Clemency and Aurora have different strengths and weaknesses and are useful in completely different situations. Clemency is a GCD so disrupts DPS, while Aurora is an oGCD that can be weaved. Clemency is better for healing someone to full before a huge blow, while Aurora is better when someone needs healing but there is time for the ticks to elapse and take them to full health before the future event hits kills them.

All tanks have a cheat death action but they all function differently.

I wasn't aware other tanks had Cover now. What are their names?

Tanks have always had mostly homogenized cooldowns, tank stances, enmity combos and the ability MT and OT.

Gap closers are on all Jobs at this point.

Some aspects, like Gap closers of all jobs, are being homogenized but it's a knee-jerk reaction to suggest they are being entirely homogenized, because Jobs have never been more diverse than they will be in Shadowbringers.

Seems to be the Trend, their isn’t 17 jobs their are 3 roles

Healers it’s never been more true, tanks it looks that way on paper and DPS is a exception for now
