I kinda wish Firebird Trance reduced cast times to 0, or by like 95% or something.
Then channeling Phoenix would make SMN as effective of a Rez mage as RDM, which would be fitting in multiple ways.
2.5s reduction isn't enough for Resurrection. I barely manage to Ascend with Lightspeed and that's a 50% reduction.

Yeah no thanks. Chain raising is too niche to be interesting, and it seems to be locking Red Mage out of interesting party buffs.I kinda wish Firebird Trance reduced cast times to 0, or by like 95% or something.

Let's not think Raising is a buff. Please.

Welcome to 0.25 fountain of fire and brand of purgatory casts (?).
Welcome to "oh my FBT just expired but somebody died after that, here please, wait a a couple minutes until I have insta raise again".
Come on?
They still have Swiftcast for out of FBT... like it currently is?
So what's the downside?
SMN, like RDM, can raise if and when they can, it's not their priority, they're not healers, but it's an option when it's viable. This would just make it more viable more often, and provide an option other than RDM for prog...
Otherwise... what's the point of Resurrection?

You are asking for the possibility of a most likely useless 90% of the times situational rezz for 20 seconds every 2 minutes, for lore purposes (...), knowing that this wouldn't come for free (meaning they'd probably take some of our DPS away) and it wouldn't either even come close to competing against the RDM permanent instaraises.
You might want to give it a second thought.
Giving SMN the ability to "chain raise" in the same fashion that RDM can will only nullify the one advantage RDM actually brings to the table for end game content. Basically, "why" would you ever bring a RDM at that point? So long as resurrection continues to exist for SMN/RDM, then it needs to be balanced around the fact that RDM "lacks" in most other areas compared to SMN and therefore "needs" the better raise utility to remain relevant.

At this point, it'd be much simpler if they added a trait that either:
A) changed Physick into a brand new action (an "useful" one)
OR
B) improved Physick's healing potency during Dreadwyrm/Firebird Trance.
Hopefully we'll get them in Patch 5.1 on-wards (or at the very least, an actual time-frame for them).
But yeah, I completely agree with you there: it's been YEARS since we last heard anything, and we're waaaaay overdue on proper ones (i.e. NOT Carbuncles).

Why are people so hung up on Physick? The developers have had all the chance in the world to change the scaling to make it a viable heal. They haven't, and it's quite clear they don't intend to. Upon equipping the Summoner soul crystal, Physick should just become unusable.
Which brings me to my next point: Get rid of Physick, and improve Everlasting Flight.
eVeRLaStInG fLiGhT~ This is the hill I'm willing to die on. Man, I hope it's changed since the media tour. They could save me a lot of time complaining on the forums.![]()

Yeah, just because RDM has VerCure does not mean SMN needs a GCD heal too. The new Titan Egi thing that shields you for 20% of your HP is good enough for the situations where you would be in danger. Healing is healer's job. VerCure is only used for DualCast on downtime, or situational heals when your are suffering a serie of unfortunate events.
