    The fairy was nerfed too. Embrace is now 150 instead of 250. But maybe its 150 based on our numbers not hers, maybe. Dissipation still sucks, and the Ruin 2 buff while "nice" is pointless. Also why not just upgrade Ruin 2 to something else, if you wanted to separate SMN and SCH more, I mean you upgraded Bio 2.

    I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

    My main concerns are with MP management. Let's start with the obvious, they've nerfed the heck out of MP recovery skills. Lucid Dreaming now reduced to 50 potency (almost half), and they tried to make up for this by halving the recast. Unfortunately, doubling the time it takes to get comparatively the same amount of MP is not a good thing. Assize is now reduced to giving a flat 500mp. That's basically a single Cure I spell. Assize previously was 10%, and with piety increasing Max MP this could be easily enough for a Cure II or more. There's no refresh on Bard anymore, there's no Ewer from Astrologian, there's no Mana Shift from mages. If we're out of MP, we're out of luck.

    Piety now increases MP regeneration, but only time will tell if it's enough to make up for the loss of MP regen from other sources. If we're trying to DPS and heal at the same time, we may find ourselves running out of MP very quickly. I have a creeping feeling that this was intentional, to force us to heal more by limiting our MP resources so we have to divide it between DPS and healing more carefully. I guess we'll find out when it goes live.

    ... you know, that actually makes a lot of sense, since that's what's the curb on pure support characters in the other MMORPG I've been playing.

    And if it's tied into Piety, doesn't that mean that it's a bit like Tenacity, in that it's a stat that's good for both the intended role and your DPS, while providing not as much value as an actual DPS stat?

    I suspect this is correct. Today I did some roulettes on SCH. Without energy drain and with how expensive everything feels, I was relying on Lucid. Which is fine, that's what it's there for. It felt very thin, though, and a little stressful, because once Lucid is done there's nothing in between except wait for something to come off cooldown. In old content it's painful and boring.

    Alliances will be crazy fun going forward (/s). All those DNC mains mean that alliances will be 60% DNC and the only rezzers in my raid just now were the healers. So... low dps because new class and new rotations, people focusing on the rotations and dying often, aaaaanddd I better do absolutely nothing but rez, wait until I have enough mana to rez again, and.... wait for it! Rez.

    Fun. Very fun.

    I am torn because I don't mind mana management being a mini-game in healing but then the rez problem needs to be addressed. It's doubly not fun to wait around for mana so I can then spend 7 seconds hard casting because mechanics are optional for dps. And let's be honest, the community isn't changing to accommodate healers.

    This already isn't working for me. And "wait for savage" doesn't help because doing old content is even more boring than it was. Losing cleric stance shouldn't feel this huge but it is. It was something I could plan for and feel like I was doing a little more to contribute. Having an opener feels nice and even if they want healers to pure heal or whatever justification it is, no fights have incoming damage in those first 15 seconds or so--and without an opener, it feels empty and it's a nice slap in the face--you're useless right now, wait until someone screws up so you can fix it. There's no shape to my rotation.

    Enjoy your healer in need bonus, guys. We might have it for a while.

    They ruined scholar, when I feel like dealing with this game again(logged in to xpac and then logged out after seeing the changes) I will be dropping the class entirely and role entirely.

    The changes are bland and uninspiring, but everyone knew that already. Every healer so far feels pretty disappointing for different reasons. Astrologian and Scholar feel gutted and a bore to play, while White Mage needed something that wasn't more healing. On the bright side, they can give Scholar back some of what it was missing through patches, but Astrologian is stuck with this for two years because of the significant ties to the job gauge and new skills. (Why is Play even a thing, it just feels like unnecessary button bloat from someone who doesn't even play the job? Just give me back Spread and let Minor Arcana hold one of the two cards like before.)

    I will say if I was going to balance it Whm spells would be more expensive and Sch would have a little bit cheaper spells. Astro's machine gun cards are nice but I think some seals have some issues registering? Dunno haven't played the third enough. But yeah whm is too cheap to play and Sch is too expensive for sure.

    I truly wouldn't downplay people opinions as being "over dramatic" because if that's the case. Your comment would be viewed as "white knighting". If you enjoy the healers that is perfectly fine. But that does not mean others opinion are not as valid.
