Ninja will even be receiving a rather significant change to the way Ninjutsu operates with a restructuring of how it works while readjusting Ninja's entire DPS. Such a change is slated for a 5.1 release.

And sure, I will deal with the fact that the old AST is long dead and gone, forever lost, but hate their delivery as if there is not even a reason to look forward to any improvements unlike when they addressed the DPS, a nice message that they will look into the class to give it some life or anything could have been better.
Oh well, some improvements I'd like:
-Horoscope activation on time out.
-Decrease or completely remove the odds of getting the same seal and specially the same card on the next 2 draws / re draws.
-Make Noct AST worth using.This is a lost cause, remove Noct Sect
-Minor Arcana doesn't transform the card, instead plays it on its Minor Arcana equivalent.
-Some sort of MP management, it is too stressful to use Lucid and Lightspeed on cooldown and still having the risk of running out of MP unlike SCH and specially WHM infinite MP pool.
-This, since it is all we need to look at anyway
- Decrease the odds of getting a card type melee / range if there is no DPS of said class in the party, it is not efficient nor optimal, what do they think this is, a game to have fun?

Is AST reasonable to play and decently powerful with the apparently dumpster fire minigame out of the way? Are we more efficient, contributing more without the cards being a distraction?
In that case its strength is its ability to keep healing with ogcds through Malefic and Gravity casts. They're still the healer who looses the least whenever they need to weave. The only thing lacking without the cards would be their personal dps. Which the cards where meant to make up the difference in.Here's a thought: AST stop using cards. Seriously. I wonder what AST would play like if it had a GCD action, aka Time Dilation GCD version, that extended the card buffs by 2s, having 2.5s GCD. Or only during Certain buff duration.
Then the cards could be buffed a lot since AST would be contributing by extending the duration of their cards on every party member instead of spamming Malefic. Malefic would be just for solo leveling, and the Time Dilation for group content.
Another thing. I would like for the cards to have a different effect when used on Tank/Healer roles. For tanks reduced damage received/Shield. For Healers Piety boost/Increased healing. Then the cards for DPS could receive a potency increase, since the Balance AoE will change the effects for tanks and healers to another thing and they will not deal more damage because of that.
One one button spam is much like another one button spam. If I'm hitting the same button over and over I don't really care if it does damage or extends buffs. Complexity and decision making is what's lacking in healers' offensive kits, not just theme.
At least I gave a suggestion instead of just saying no.
And I suggested changes for the card buffs. This would improve decision making.
And it's just a base idea, complexity comes with a lot of thinking and not with a base idea like what I intended to give.
This thread is a sum of ideas for the devs to make a complete work, and not for us to work for free. We are here to help with inspiration, no dev will take ideas from players as a copy paste.

You would create an issue of AST players not DPSing or Healing because they are spamming it, and the card buffs would have to be rediculous to make up for the fact the pDPS output of the AST is 0 as their life is mashing the extend buffs button.
