While I do agree with you on a whole, I wouldn't just throw away people's worries about healers currently. Tho yes I do think people are over reactting by a mile.Outside of potency changes I wouldn't be expecting brand new abilities a month before the expansion launches. Healers will be fine, people that enjoy playing healers will play them and those that don't will move on to something else. Also, the forums are the minority even if ever healer that posts here stopped playing healers you still wouldn't notice any decrease in queue times. People love making mountains out of molehills apparently.

It's not just me and it's certainly not just these forums. I'm part of a good number of communities. People are upset all over the place. Sure, not everyone is quite as incensed as I am, most non-healers couldn't give a damn, but this isn't an isolated feeling that just a couple dozen folks on the forums are worried about.
It won't be an organized thing, but people will get mad, they will complain, and if things aren't fixed they will leave. It happened in BFA, it can happen here.
I'm unhappy, specifically, I am really disappointed. However, I will give the new AST (and SCH) a try. It isn't anything I wanted, but maybe it will play well and match the content. I don't know, but it sure looks bad.
Keeping 6 old cards, but turn all of them into a 15s 6%/3% damage buff card. YoshiP actually approved this idea...just...wow

I don't really see the point in fishing for cards for Seals to boost Divination in this system.
Outside of Savage, is there really any difference between 3% and 6%?
Two drops in an ocean is as noticable as one.
Even when optimising, it may not be worth the trouble if redrawing could waste time and potentially result in a worse card anyway.
Your best targets for cards are still your top damage dealers, if your party consists of say, Nin, Sam, Dnc, Rdm, then the clear winner is SAM and you'll want your melee cards every time.

Thinking about it, does this mean that Neutral Sect can be made completely redundant if a SCH uses Deployment? Critlo shields (Catalyse) aren't spread by Deployment so there's good potential for stacking there, but Galvanise still is, so does that mean AST and SCH both render each other's abilities useless?
Previously, choosing Diurnal was a good way to make sure you're still both useful, but, with our l80 ultimate ability using both sects, that now puts us in active conflict with a l56 SCH ability. Seems like a weird decision.
This could be an oversight, but the shields on the new Celestial Opposition doesnt specific that it doesn't stack with Galvanise.Thinking about it, does this mean that Neutral Sect can be made completely redundant if a SCH uses Deployment? So there might be some room there to boost the shield.

The tooltip for Aspected Benefic/Helios still says the shields don't stack, so I suppose it depends on whether that extends to Neutral Sect and Celestial Opposition, or whether they give a unique stackable shield that works with Galvanise. Kinda funny given they said they want to move away from barrier healing.
Oh no..the cards..they ruined them..that was the main thing I loved about being an AST. You didn't know what you were going to get. I want to main this job because I still love it..but this is going to be difficult. Especially with DNC pulling me even harder now.

Everything unique about AST has been utterly ruined. There's no point in playing it anymore, they may as well just get rid of it.
