Furthermore, no changes to the card effects and how they work also still let you remain screwed with bad party composition (Wasnt a goal of them to remove the need for certain compositions?).

    Since WHM is still way ahead ast in terms of dps, and their healing kit still remaining to be better than asts kit, alongside the fact that ast has to put a lot of effort into the cards, i can easily say that WHM/SCH combo is the absolute goto composition. If your raid group swaps out a WHM or SCH for a AST, then you are giving your raid group with a huge deficit to deal with.
    Why would you ever be in nocturnal with the shitty shields it gives ? The 5.05 changes are better than i hoped for, but at the end the card system still sucks. A lot of drama for a 4,5,6% dmg buff you could just put on one ability with a 120 or 150s cd instead of being a fun and engaging subsystem that gives AST some flair. Takes 7 ability slot that could be filled with healing or damage abilities like SCH & WHM have.

    Because shield + HoTs is USUALLY better than HoTs + HoTs.

    I'm not really here to napkin math whether or not it's currently the case that WHM + Diurnal AST is better than WHM + Nocturnal AST is better or not, but that's why.

    That "shitty stance" allows the party to push harder because of shield protection, and allows for more errors. WHM/Diurnal leaves little room for errors and can often lead to the party dying to things they wouldn't have if they actually had shields to mitigate the damage.

    I honestly prefer nocturnal over diurnal, but that's just personal preference - nerfing it further while buffing diurnal only throws nocturnal sect to the we-dont-want-you corner along with Selene.

    AST problems we still have
    1. CU is still far weaker than sacred soil in every way
    2. our rDPS contribution will still be too low(if we were just 100-200 rdps i would think it would be fine but we are looking at far more than that still) compared to Whm
    3. Nocturnal still makes AB cost 1k mp while having weaker heals to mp ratio
    4. Diurnal shields can still handle most encounters(we will see what savage brings)
    5. Horoscope still doesn't go off if you proc so gotta make sure to remember even if its chaos.(minor)

    Some problems have been alleviated but core ones still remain Nocturnal is feeling more like a hindrance than ever especially with sch getting nice QoL stuff.

    Nocturnal hasn't been nerfed. It's still been buffed, just not enough, and nowhere near as much as Diurnal.
    Noct Opposition has a stronger shield and Noct Intersection has a stronger regen. Everything else is pretty much the same or at least the same as Diurnal.

    Well the patch notes are out and these buffs are nothing but disappointing. Noct still sucks. Ast still sucks.....yep....rework is great
