We know that trying to take choreographed screen shots can be a difficult process most of the time, so we will be implementing a countdown timer that will make an appearance in patch 1.21a!

By entering the text command “/countdown(/count),” the number (between 1 and 20) chosen in the subcommand will appear on your player character and a countdown will begin. After 1, “Go(not yet finalized)” will be displayed.

Here is what the countdown will look like:

This number can be seen by other players, but will not appear in screen shots, so please utilize this function when capturing choreographed screen shots!

How does the game decide who will see the countdown timer? Is it only party members? Cuz' if it just displays to everyone near you, that would probably get on some people's nerves...

I'm wondering if this can be utilized in combat situations to sync up abilities to avoid enmity shifts.

This was my first thought, especially in regards to timed Black Mage nukes. I'll be looking forward to this little addition, thank you SE! (Unless I can't use it in combat then please consider making it useful for that too!)
