Have we heard of Corvos before?

The new Magicked Carpet mount on the Mogstation says

This plush mount was clearly woven with the greatest care using techniques traditional in the Near East. The origins of its more magical elements remain unclear, as the only extant historical records regarding flying carpets pertain to one given to an ancient king of Corvos by a faerie queen, and it is highly unlikely that said carpet would have been adorned with a motif of Namazu and moogles─as this one most certainly is.

I don't remember ever hearing about this Corvos place. Obviously it's somewhere in the Near East, though. Has it ever been mentioned before or is this a new country on Ilsabard to maybe look forward to visiting someday?

It's on the Stormblood map and Lore Book 2 makes a reference to Corvos having its own Colossus of Rhodes. I think that's it.

If you look at the most recent/translated version of the world map, it's somewhere north of Thavnair, presumably part Ilsabard's eastern mainland (the Near East).

A question about the map while we're looking at it - is the Cinderfoot River supposed to be within the explorable area, or is it north of Cape Westwind? It seems like the cape should be the peninsula north of the river, but we travel along the coast and never seem to cross a large river or inlet like what's drawn on the map. Is it meant to be Nophica's Wells or the Footfalls, perhaps?

Corvos turns up in "The Hunt Begins", Zenos' short-story in "The Chronicles of Light" collection. It's the country Zenos' sword tutor is from, and it apparently has as history of aether-based sword-fighting techniques. It was subjugated by Garlemald and is said to be in southern Ilsabard. Given that it is north of Dalmasca, it has probably been part of the Garlean Empire for over thirty years.

Terribly sorry to ask another unrelated question about the map above, but whereabouts is the Golmore Jungle? Is it north of Valnain? I've been wondering about where Orbonne Monastery and the Ridorana Lighthouse are, respectively.

Garlemald divided the territory of The Kingdom of Dalmasca into two areas known collectively as the Diocese of Dalmasca.

Dalmasca Superior: Rabanastre (Capital) and the desert south of the Skatay Range

Dalmasca Inferior: Lea Monde (Capital), Greylic's Bend, Golmore Jungle

Same. I revised my character's RP history from the ground up yesterday to have her be from Radz-at-Han in fact. Hopefully the DNC quests give us some Thavnair lore.
