Some people (like myself) don't use the kind of language that the OP was referring to, but also don't get upset when others use it.
Getting offended every time somebody wants you to be offended is no way to live life.

You realize it’s working against the point of your post and a lot more people might support you if you took it out, right?

To me it seems OP is a little bit too sensitive. I mean saying something is cancer is like saying something is unwanted or bad. Because no one likes to have cancer, so I don't see the problem. And I say that as someone who had a close family member died because of it.
Relax and don't get offended at something that trivial. It's not like someone got personally insulted... that's a different can of worms.

Pretty much this. You seem to be quite adamant that using "moron" is okay. This is not helping your argument (and I say this as someone on your side of it).
If you use a term that you didn't realise might be offensive (and are shown why it's offensive), you apologise, back off and don't use the term again. Don't insist it's fine while trying to argue why another term is offensive.
It shouldn't even need historical context. I've known since I was a kid that "moron" isn't a nice thing to call someone, and certainly not what you use to look like the rational person in an argument. I'd let it slide in your first post or two where you just seemed upset and maybe not phrasing things the best way (that, and I forgot to comment on it after writing the rest of my original reply to the thread) but now you're just clinging to the term and arguing that it's acceptable.
Please reconsider. Realise what you're doing by insisting on defending your use of it.
You are undermining your own argument.
JustJon, if I might assume for a moment that you have autism spectrum disorder since you don’t approve of people using the term autism in this fashion? I’m here with you too friend I have autism spectrum disorder as well, I’ve had to learn while I might not fully understand social norms and ques I must be open to criticism on them and learn esp if it’s a criticism that has come from a lot of people. Now I’m not saying listen to everyone all the time or that or criticism is correct but part of dealing with my Aspergers was realizing I had to retrain myself in the way I dealt with certain situations even if it contradicted how I felt a situation should go or how my feelings were. I didn't realize certain actions of mine were taken a certain way so I had to train myself to act differently in certain situations/

OP would probably have a heart attack and make 10 more threads if he read Hydatos shout chat yesterday lol.
-Is saying heart attack offensive?-

TIL I'm intolerant of myself.
- One of OP's former FC members
Seriously though. Soul Assassin here dropped out of our company with nary a word said leaving us all scratching our heads; doubly so because he'd vanished off our friends lists too suggesting he didn't just leave the FC; but completely abandoned the shard and left us with no way to ask him what happened.
I've seen the "Your DPS gave me cancer" quote before; but I feel he's leaving out an important context: It was in the form of a multi-line ASCII macro of a moogle lying in a bed surrounded by other moogles, captioned 'Your DPS gave me cancer"; very uncouth and perhaps distasteful but, comically executed. It wasn't directed at Soul or anyone in particular, it was just one of the guys sharing a variety of silly macros he had prepared and on standby. The only time I ever saw it used was in a private party and even then, jokingly.
As for using 'autistic' as an insult; it might be me who was guilty of using that phrase; as well as "'sperging out" - referring to Asperger Syndrome. But here's the kicker... I'm on the autistic spectrum, I feel this is my 'my word' to use. Much like people in the black or gay community can use certain words others cannot without it being deemed horrifically offensive. (For context I tend to use it when someone is obsessing over minutia or displaying their extreme focus on a topic; something Soul did often)
Soul, if you had a problem you should have probably just brought it up with the people who said it, or an officer. Dropping out the FC with nary a word, transferring to a different server, and the creating a thread seeking pity seems like a rather extreme over-reaction![]()

So instead of directly telling your FC that something offended you. You decided to vanish from the data center, come here on the forums, start drama about it in hopes that your FC members would see it and realize that they have offended you?
-insert cancer metaphor here-

Hold on, so you dumped an FC, swapped data centers, instead of talking with your guild member about something you don't like to see and made a forum post about it.My Goal is achieved, thanks guys all your help has been appreciated. No matter how backward people feel I have gone about it, I literally have no mind to make any more comments I felt it would have similarities to Brexit and I'll be here for years trying, 2 days not bad!
Soul OUT!
That seems rather childish. And a pretty bad way of going about it.
We actually tried to contact him after he vanished to ask what happened, but because he'd switched data centers we couldn't even do that >.<
This is the first we've heard from him since then.
