Can I tweak sound quality options?

Hi gang, hope you're having a good one!

My PC ain't very good and I have to play with minimum graphics, but it is still playable.

What makes it unplayable is the horrible sound that I get, probably due to the graphics. Alas, I can't make anything else about the graphics, but I was trying to find more options to reduce sound quality or something.

Is it possible to change sound settings apart from volume?
Playing with constant "static" while fighting is not nice at all :/

Can you elaborate on the issue you have with the sound quality? Is it a problem with a certain sounds (Music, Sound effects)?

What kind of audio device do you use (Speakers, Headphones, etc.)?

Can you submit a Final Fantasy XIV system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

Thanks for the reply.

I can't really say much more than that, the sound gets distorted (for lack of a better word) with both music and sound effects.

I have been playing with only speakers on my laptop, but I just tried my headphones and still have the problem.

Everything is updated and does not happen in any other game that I play!

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

There's no options in the Sounds Settings to change the quality of the sound, only to adjust the volume. The quality of the sound would have to do with the sound device you are using. Do you use any specific sound programs for your laptop?

You can try a clean boot. This will prevent other processes from interfering with the game. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.
