Alt players and the future.

So, I was thinking, hypothetically, if FFXIV gets the the old wow 12million sub count what will they do for alt players?

By the time the sub count reaches 5 million you're going to have a lot of people who will make subs for fun and for leveling up new classes. They may still be the minority but, it will be a big minority at 12 mil.

Even if it's a quarter of 12 mil, (3 millionish?) That's going to be too many to ignore if they all post on the forums about "alt equality" and "love for alts".

What do you think the devs will do? Should they do anything? What would you do?

Do you have alts? Do you mind people who make alts? Would you be opposed to making content easier for alts?

My alt finished his msq in about a week of played time, and finished getting its crafters to 70.

I have an alt FC made on a different alt thatll be moving into a large house so I can decorate more soon.

Not sure what needs to be done for alts or why it would be a need.

Alts want pats on their heads. I know. I've interviewed alts before and they reply kindly to pats.

1: outside of having a other character holding a name i used before then i don't, see no point at all in alts when you can be everything on one character.

3) easier as in getting through the story easier if you've beaten it on a main.

1) people make alts for, (a) coming from a different game and hasn't converted to FFXIV system, (b) character identity and rp purposes, (c) bag space, (d) to play with friends, etc.

(a) we use FFXIV's system.
(c) manage inventory better

(b) and (d) are fair though.

I don't really see them doing anything; the system works as intended. I made an alt on another DC to play with friends, bought a boost to 60 and caught up to Lv70 and the end of the story inside of a week. Without the boost it would have probably taken two or three more weeks to catch up, if I prioritized playing the alt character.

(c) manage inventory better

Rough sell on that one... considering you can double your account sub for extra inventory space. Someone who gathers/crafts for themselves and maintains a stock for commissions is going to run into inventory issues on the base subscription.

I would love to see achievements, event items, glamor wardrobe, calamity salvager and mog station purchases be shared between all alts.
'Cause let me tell you, I just grinded all 7 of my alts through arr in less than a month to get the items from the XV event, and I kind of hate the game now since I did all that??
