    But now that MCH has the Queen, how would they top it in 6.0? Poor Knight being skipped over.

    Well, it is a point of the MCH storyline that Ishgard already has plenty of knights...

    Actually that could possibly explain the choice of the chess theme in the first place.

    Ooh, that's true. They might not want to antagonize the knights by saying they're replaceable by automatons.

    After just leaving the vault: There are even automated chess pieces knights in Ishgard - as part of the protection in the Vault! So... they're spoken for, I guess?
