You're going to have to drop the plot and wait out the timer again or start fresh on another plot while enjoying your new personal house. This isn't something the GMs will assist you with.

yeah it's at this point that I would really love to go into the forum on the housing setup they have and say a lot of really bad things that would probably get my account banned. this system is completely idiotic.

Short of FC housing being 100% separated from private housing, you would have likely have made the same mistake in any other systems. You still would have had to select either private or FC and you still may have select private by accident.

Time to be an adult and accept responsibility for the error you made instead of blaming it on others.

To be fair people are more likely to make errors while they're rushing, and rushing is what most people do when they're purchasing a house due to the competition. OP may have made the same mistake anyway even if they could take their time, but the fact remains that they would have been far less likely to if they didn't need to rush.
