This. I hit the cap all the time and can't always be bothered to go find something to spend them on. 2000 from content at each 10 levels from the base game plus two expansions is nowhere near enough. I can spend them all, sneeze, and then be at the cap again.

Baiscally poetics, is SE go to tombstone for any old content, there will always be poetics

They get rid of the rest or you would have to collect about 20 different tombstones by now if they didn't phase some out and then they would have to make certain dungeons drop certain tombstone.

Who wants time to run a 60 dungeon 100 times for creation gear >.<

The bigger concern to me is what those "other means" are -- because I know a lot of 70s who do roulettes every day for men/gen tomes. If they were suddenly able to buy i360/390 gear with gil and couldn't acquire the new tomes until level 80, they'd have little reason to use DF for anything more than leveling.

They would typically keep mendacity and genesis gear on the vendor at Rhalgr's Reach, except that you buy it with poetics instead.

You're worring over nothing. This is their third expansion and they know exactly what they are doing. If you don't purchase the expansion, you can continue to do roulettes for poetics and purchase the same gear you currently do. If you do intend to do the expansion, you will get plenty of gear upgrades from vendors, quests and new leveling dungeons. Once you get to L80 there will be some brand new tomestones and associated gear to get with them.

That’s how it always is, you can by crafted 380 gear right now with gil if you wanted to as well.

All items currently available for modern tomestones will now go for poetics as will the gear upgrade items/weapon exchange item.

They did this in the beginning of Stormblood for the Heavensward gear.

The only use I have found lately for some tomestones is buying gear for retainers.

its annoying they keep removing tomes but refuse to up cap on poetics to a reasonable amount like 6k or something
