Thank you Yoshi-P for removing the dps mentality from Healers and restoring the role identity.

This is not going to go over well...
We saw that last bullet point.

All healers are thoroughly rebalanced to emphasize pure healing role, not that they are "only" pure healers.
I think some people will probably have to wait to see things in action before guessing things lol
Exactly. There are still offensive spells. Even mentioned in the PowerPoint slide.![]()
But with no mention of offensive potency and an emphasis on filling in gaps in healer kits, there is no basis either way from the presentation regarding the direction of healer damage.

Thanks for helping make the FFXIV community a fun and welcoming place. If you're not sure you have (and you very likely have), make it a point to be patient or helpful the next time you log in so that you can know you've made a difference.
If you're on the Aether data center, congratulations! I might be your nextexciting adventurehealer in the Duty Finder. Please look forward to it.
So we're going back to ARR healing... But with AST full of utility and SCH having it's utility... and WHM with nothing worthwhile. So benched again for another expansion, oh goody. I'm hoping that's not the case when the expansion hits, but this certainly didn't assuage my worries.
...and yet we don't know what this actually means. The presentation was very vague about healers...
If they are indeed lowering damage of healers, good luck leveling one outside of dungeons. Because otherwise, you're going to take forever to kill one mob.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
Yeah WHM got the most details but they were still sparse...
- lillies accumulate over time (no need to use abilities to get them)
- getting an instant geal to mitigate cast times of other abilities
- black lily can appear for powerful offensive spell
- plus some angel wing thing
Not much to read into anything so far for healer jobs. Nothing about potency of attacks, etc.
Now, from one of the purported "leaks" from yesterday that seemed to get many things right based on today's live letter (but *not* official), regarding WHM:
- Reworked / Redone
- You get a better holy skill / aoe
- You get a new spam ability "Glare" ? Most likely wrong name
- New dot 60 pot 30s
- Rapture? Better cure 2
- GOD job, you get wings, like the ones from EB or the Ultima emote
Again, could be made up, but we saw the wings today, and they mentioned today during the footage for WHM that we see no stones (could refer to the new spammable from the leak replacing stone), and the "better" cure 2 could be the new instant cast heal mentioned today.
Or not. Maybe the wings was the only part the "leaker" got right.
But we just don't know what will happen right now either way.

My biggest thing with this is that I don't want downtime. Downtime as a healer is boring. The reason I love healing so much in 14 is because I'm always either healing or DPSing. If they kill healer damage without making enemies deal more damage to encourage more healing, the jobs will feel boring.
