The red scrip itself will go away, but its function will live on. Currently red scrips are a currency you can get for turning in collectables at medium-high levels(from 55ish-69), and you can spend them for a variety of things(some gear, bait, materia, and a variety of other options). Currently yellow scrips are the currency available for turning in collectables at max level(68?-70), and you can spend them for a variety of "better" things(more powerful gear, better materia, exclusive materials, etc). In a month when ShB goes live red will be retired, and yellow will take over the medium-high slot(roughly 55-79) while a new color(green? orange? purple?) will take on the max slot. So the information is still useful in understanding how things generally work(as well as how they specifically do for the next 30 days), but we need to update our color guides pretty soon.

Oh, I had another question. I remember reading somewhere during my research someone said to be SURE and level MIN and BOT up first, before taking on fishing. I don't remember why, they said something about how hard and boring it would be to level up FSH without having done MIN and BOT first. But I don't recall why. Any idea what they were talking about, and is this a consensus view?

EDIT: I found the post. The comment was that Fishing for "red scrips" is ridiculously slow and boring and much easier to do with MIN and BOT. Does this make sense?

You have to like fishing to fish here. Its skippable though.

Red scrips are a L 50+ thing. So its a not to worry about right now thing. Its also correct that fishing takes longer to acquire scrips than MIN or BOT. But if you like fishing it isn't boring.

Squadrons are an easy way to get scrips. Each GC has a version of this quest: https://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/S...mmortal_Flames)

Its a bit in the future for you too and it takes a while to tune them for scrips.

The supply and delivery missions unlock at Sgt, rank IIRC.

Every expansion the lowest level scrips, currently blue, go away. The middle level, currently red, become the lowest and also become useless except for trading for the former highest level scrips, currently yellow. The yellow scrips become the middle level and a new color becomes the highest level.

Once you get to L55 gathering you will will be going for the yellow scrips, but nothing else about the process changes.

No, Supply and Provision missions should be available as soon as you have joined a Grand Company and have at least one level in some DoH/DoL class.
It is Expert deliveries that do not become available until you have reached the Sergeant Second Class rank.
