I don't rely much, for my daily queues, on the people that burn the game in a day then disappears until next patch.
And, I only suppose but may be wrong, them don't care much who is playing while they are away.
Everyone is prob taking a break so they're fresh when 5.0 launches. I know i am.
not sure how that matters. what i was saying is that you should get used to that complaint because you will see alot of it from people that weren't on for free transfers.
*shrug*
It's not as if the new data centers are actually starting from nothing. They were filled with mixes of high pop and low pop servers. Yeah.. it sucks but the opportunity to swap for "free" was there. As someone who regularly goes back to old MMO's I used to play to try em out when they get big updates you can't really complain about org changes that happened while you were on hiatus. It's like not visiting your favorite restaurant for months and then being mad because the booth you used to like got redeco'd or removed.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
You must not have played the end of an expansion before. End of Stormblood had a content drought just like the end of Heavensward and the end of A Realm Reborn and any other game that's winding down towards a new expansion where everyone has already completed what they wanted to complete of the available content. During this time, it is not advised to join the game unless you're trying to burn through MSQ to reach the end of SB in order to be prepped for ShB. For those of us who have been playing since an earlier patch that have finished everything, we're simply waiting. Many have already canceled subs until the launch of ShB. I have personally still been doing my weeklies so I can be capped on tomes and scrips for Early Access.
The servers still look well populated to me so it's likely you're not using the world visit system or are just on a small server. I wouldn't rely on the party finder right now for just about anything. Again. End of expansion pack. Won't be a lot of people doing anything worth while outside of farming old content for mounts, titles n' glams. Sorry it's empty for you, but it'll get better.
Don't know about your server but limsa on Excalibur had been the busiest I've ever seen it in the last few weeks.
Hang in there. As far as I can see there is a HUGE influx of new players and they're spreading like sprouty locusts. When I first reached Ishgard it was initially empty but now I have lag because of the amount of players there. It just takes a bit of time for us to catch up to the endgame, and as everyone else has mentioned: veteran players are taking this time now to do other things.
Right now it's a lull time for the game. So much so the Moogles that will be selling those rare items are an incentive of getting people back in the game, especially as they're related to ARR content to help our current new players catch up.
It's the reason why content runs are a bit sloppy with people right now currently doing catchup/leveling alts for Shadowbringers. It's the reason why there's not as much PF activity and also why the main hub towns don't have as many people. We more so have new players getting into the game (From the Twitch and SE store incentives) so end game areas won't have as many people past hunts.
Expect it to be picking up by next week as we're nearing the release for 5.0
