Game is a ghost town after server split.

It's...weird. Among the people on my friends list, the people in my FC, etc etc, it seems like a ghost town at times. But...there is also something else I noticed.

As a dps main, I have very long queue times and have learned to deal with it. I don't like crafting, gathering, or changing jobs while in a queue because I've had bad experiences in the past of having crafts interrupted or timing out and being automatically withdrawn (usually due to "being in combat"). So, to pass the time, I spam fates for GC seals. My zone of choice is usually Coerthas Central Highlands. Ever since I pretty much joined this game after Stormblood's release, that zone has almost always been a ghost town. In recent weeks, however, the zone is packed. There are people wandering around doing fates, quests, etc. Most of them are sprouts, but not all. I'm still not quite used to it. I'm so used to my Coerthas grinding being my "alone time".

I don't know who all these people are, but they're there and they're not bots.

The ques are because there aren't enough people joining that are healing and/or tanking. And, after SE nerfs the pants off the SCH AND the new non-healing classes roll out I imagine that problem to become a bit worse as well. I know I won't be queuing to heal any longer at that point, and I'm sure others won't be either. I'm already planning on switching to either a SAM or a Red Mage when the changes go live. I just refuse to play a shell of a class I used to enjoy.

I never said I was unhappy. I'm just not used to having people wandering around so much in the open world.

As for DPS queue times, I would have quit this game a long time ago if that actually bothered me.

I've only recently moved to Cactuar so I'm not sure how it usually is but it seems populated enough. Que times seem about the same as I remember them being in HW too at this time outside a couple pieces of content (particularly Yojimbo) that could be chalked to not nearly as many people needing it compared to some other content. My lvl roulettes for example have been dinging at normal rates, same for EX, Trial, and Alliance raid.

Back in the ARR days the Central Highlands and Northern Thanalan were THE places to level for 30-40 and 40-50 via fates, might be some are reliving those days?
