Possible Compromise on Gender Locks: Volunteer Work

There were people like this. And, what a surprise (not really even a surprise tho), some of them switched to male Miqo'tes and females Roes in 2.0. Just open the thread for missing genders from 1.0, there is a person who was against of "eye candy" and "lore breaking" male Miqo right at the 1st page.

We could always pay them money instead, like a kickstarter/patreon to fund the development of other races/genders. If they hire artist themselves, we wont have to do anything at all.

Maybe they should do something like a merch sale or make a gil item on cashshop thats cheaper than what botters charge. Wed have less botters that way. Though of course it would be a bit weird for the economy unless they made some sort of gil sink. Runescape lets you buy subscription time, but at a very high cost. Its a feature called "bonds." You can sell or trade it to other players as well as buy it with money or game currency.

They could also make a different currency all together. Something like Crysta where the player buys "gems" and can spend said gems for certain benefits. Maybe an exp buff? Gil buff? Could even increase drop rates too, its starting to sound like a bad korean mmo. These are very rough ideas. I didnt put much effort into it, but thought maybe somebody would find inspiration somewhere in this to form a better idea. xD I honestly dont mind "buffs" though. Or even drop rates, so long as it isnt p2w. like increased chances for a bird mount dont really affect other players. We all get them randomly anyhow.

The idea was, that I just wish there was something we could do to help. The fastest way to help would be to pay for digital goods that took little to no time to create(5% exp bonus would not need models and textures beyond a hud icon) OR donate.

Well, technically it is. Because Yoshida isnt being given back as much money as could be. He has a small budget and cannot change it himself. He has no choice but to hand the money he makes over. Yeah SE is loaded and im not saying its right or that i agree with it. I likely wont even purchase another SE game outside of XIV. I still like XIV though and would love to be able to support the team that the main branch of SE is leeching off of. The issue is definitely money. Its corporate greed, at least in my opinion. Though if we could somehow get away with helping XIV specifically, without it going to the others... well that would be nice.

I totally understand. I just recall seeing Yoshida speak of the things he wished he had the power accomplish and it seems like hes being held back by a lot of limitations, including budget. A shame really. At the time of my posting I had forgotten SE and their greed were even related to the XIV team. XD Its a shame we cant get XIV more funding and get back at SE at the same time.
