I'd wait to try it before complaining about ping. The new wildfire damage is a fixed amount per weapon skill. And the 1,5s GCD should be less impacted by ping since it's not designed to be weaved with oGCD.
I see it like this call the robot>Wildfire>Overheat>spam heat blast>profit?
Since heat blast refresh your 2 oGCD you should have spent them before the phase so you can recharge them without capping. And since you're not weaving oGCD the skills should queue and be used directly as they're refreshed server side if you're just mashing the skill.
As long as you manage to squeeze 5 heatwaves in there you've done what you could and should have max potency since activating the wildfire (10s) seems to align with the overheat (8s) so unless you've got a crazy good ping or invested everything in skillspeed, I don't see anyone pushing 6 heatwaves (but if it happen I would look at the skillspeed before looking at the ping)
