Japanese Error 16a - Shadow Bringers Benchmark

I downloaded the Shadowbringers Benchmark today, and I am receiving an error in Japanese that translates roughly to "An error occured in Final Fantasy XIV. (16a)" (per Google Translate)

I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. I'm running on a fairly new Windows 10 PC and have attempted multiple settings, extracting to other folders and verifying read/write permissions are correct. Below are my settings:

Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Were any updates or changes made to the PC at all? Also were you able to run Final Fantasy XIV without any crashes? Has the game crashed before? If you have not done so already, please try running a cleanboot. To perform a clean boot for Windows 8/10: Open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab.

Could you also provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

I haven't made any serious changed to my PC config recently. Nothing that should effect the benchmark launching that I'm aware of. I did perform a clean boot.

I was just recently in FFXIV and had no issues as well.

Of course you are you didn't think tech support was actually going to help you did you? It's been my experience that they like to blame the client-side 100% of the time. I sure hope they fix this before shadowbringers released on their sure going to have to be given a lot of people a lot of money back. This is the problem when you don't updates a coding when you use old outdated Antiquated software.

Stealing this from another thread, but this is apparently the solution, as it worked for me as well:

try deleting any existing FFXIV Benchmark folders in your 'My Games' Folder, i was getting this same issue and was able to fix it just now using this method.
