Information on all important side content and quests?

    Hello friends,

I have recently returned to FF14 after about 5 years or so. I leveled my Paladin from level 1 to 64 and I'm absolutely loving it! I just finished Heavensward and started Stormblood.

However, this game has so much side content that I have missed over years. For example I didnt know about POTD.. I just accidently stumbled upon "Wondrous Tales" book/reward and just today heard of clan bounties and gold saucer fashion report although I have no idea what neither are.

Can someone please point to a post or a guide on all important side content for someone who hasnt played since ARR?

    Thank you very much.

    You can check https://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/G...Locked_Content
A lot of the stuff there is unlocked through the main scenario, but the things unlocked by optional sidequests are included as well. (I linked the first page, the one that has ARR content, but at the top it includes links to the HW and SB ones. You'll probably want to check each, since newer patches can add content in lower levels as well as at level cap.)

And SE made one nice change a while back to make the important stuff easier to find in game. If a sidequest unlocks a feature or dungeon it will now be marked with a special blue quest icon with a plus sign in the lower left corner rather than the regular tan Q sidequest icon.

So if all else fails (or if you think you've completed everything and want to double check) you can go around Eorzea stopping in each region long enough to check it's map for feature unlocking quests.

Thank you so much for the info and responses.

Anything that I should be aware of that easy to miss? Like I didnt know about wondrous tales, i didnt know talking to matria guy in some heavensward town would reward me stones (materia) for doing dailies.. stuff like that.

What about my weapon, I guess u do that quest at 70?

Anything that I might be missing or is worth checking out? im not talking about leveling but story, mounts, clothing, minions, whatever is cool so to speak :P

    Thanks again!

"Clan bounties" is an extra source of exp and currency(seals, scrips, gil). Each expansion has its own sets you can unlock.

Fashion Report is a newer minigame(little over a year old i think) in the gold saucer. Each week the NPC gives out a theme(after the tuesday reset) with clues for how to dress. You try to figure out the clues, put on the outfit you think he wants to see, then present yourself for judging(friday-monday - you get 4 shots per week and your highest score counts). Or you can just check around and find someone else who already solved the current theme and skip the guesswork(what most people do). Doing well can earn you 60k MGP per week(more if you use bonus actions), theres a title you can earn, and his helper NPC has a little mini shop with a few glamour and housing items you can unlock.

One thing to keep an eye out for if story/mounts/minis/clothing is your aim are the beast tribe quests. Each tribe has its own story, each has at least one mini and mount, many of them have outfits and emotes, and if you complete all of them for an expansion they get an extra quest-line to unite and wrap up their stories.

    If you still need help:

POTD: Palace of the Dead, a deep dungeon where you can enter with four random players with any combat jobs and clear 10 floors each. You can start at level 1. The main story ends on the 50th floor. It's good if you need something to level up your combat jobs if roulettes aren't your fastest way. Deep dungeons also drops rare items you can sell on market board if you clear above 50th floor.

HOH: Heavens on High, also a deep dungeon, but for combat jobs above level 61. The story ends on the 30th floor. Can also drop rare items you can sell on market board if you clear above 30th floor.

WT: Wondrous Tails: There are 16 types of objectives you can clear and received a sticker each. You can only clear 9 at a time, so make sure you make a line or two if you want the prizes n each category. By joining with someone who's new on duties will give you second chance for your book to either reset one duty to re-clear it (But closes other duty in random) or reshuffle your stickers. The objectives can be anything you've cleared.

Clan Bounties: A hunt. When you walk around wild areas there are chances you'll meet enemies at level 50 in ARR, 60 in HW, or 70 in SB. Those are hunts where you can kill for Allied Seal or Centurio seals (And other stuff like Tomestone and cracked cluster depends on what hunt you killed). If you stumble across enemies with red symbol on their name it's aggressive, I suggest you to make parties and notify other people with shout or LS. If you stumble across the tame one then you need Clan Bounty to obtain the prize. You can obtain the clan hunt from each Grand Company or the clan board in front of Forgotten Knight on Ishgard.

Fashion report: Extra feature in Gold Saucer where you dress according to the theme each week and get points. If you get full score (100) you'll receive 80.000 MGP.

Delivery Moogle: A sidequest where you carry items as courier. Each missions have stories.

If you want to ask anything else feel free to ask

If the sidequest is not important, the marker looks like this:

(all gold, with an exclamation mark)

If the sidequest unlocks something (note: this can sometimes just mean it unlocks more sidquests), then it looks like this:

(exclamation mark with a blue background and plus sign)

Only if one of the other quests it leads to in turn unlocks a feature.

Sidequests that lead to a follow up quest, or even a chain of several follow up quests to get in a bit of storytelling, can still get the regular tan and gold Q icon if the quest chain doesn't provide any feature unlocks. But if a sidequest chain unlocks a feature, then not only the specific quest that unlocks it, but also all preceding quests required to get to that point will have the blue Q with a plus sign icon.

Another feature that's been added fairly recently is the "glamour dresser" (ie. cabinet) at the inn, which gives you extra storage space for gear that you only want to use as a glamoured appearance (currently 200 spots, to be doubled in 5.0), plus you can set up reusable 'plates' of costumes you use regularly.

Small correction. The first time you score 100 in fashion report you get a title(Fashion Leader). Any week that you participate you get 10k for showing up, and any week you score 80 points or more you get 50k as a bonus(for a total of 60k).

And as an addendum to your note about Clan Hunts(the bounties thing). There are B A and S rank hunts. Once per week you can get a "bounty" to clear out a particular B rank hunt(these are basically always up) from each notice board(so one for lvl 50, one for 60 and one for 70). Any time you can find and kill an A rank hunt you get a bigger bounty(these have roughly 4 hour respawns), and finding an S rank gets you the biggest prize(these have respawns measured in days not hours and particular spawning triggers). A and S rank hunts are typically killed in groups(higher level ones are impossible to solo), with many people choosing to join dedicated LSs to facilitate the finding and killing of them. However, in addition to the ranked hunts each hunt board will offer smaller daily hunt targets. These will be "normal" monsters in the leveling range(for instance, a recent day saw one board asking me to kill 3 rhino beetles among other targets), with the reward being bonus experience and a bit of coin.
