The good news about the botting fix

People are still gonna bot, if something involves repetition, someone in the world will figure out a way to bot it. The good I take away from this, shards and crystals will not be as easy to get because of the fish recipes, in turn will make fishing bot more… pointless, and finally the Luminary Tools will actually be an achievement.

I think your missing the point calling it a "botting fix" .. if it is, it's the lamest one I've ever seen. Common.. if you think this will stop a bot you really don't understand what your dealing with.

I'm going with my original suggestion, get a watchdog client and prelink the binaries after patch and randomize the memory addresses of each game client individually.

Even thinking of, 'have GMs ban people' dont really work in this instance. The player base is low, starting to build, but coming back. Ban 1/8 of your paying players, oh, and while we're doing that, let's add on 100 more GMs to the payroll so we can ban these people.

Tough spot for SE, but I like this attempt. It hurts the shard market botters, it has an effect on fish bot too, and keeps Luminarys where they should be.

There is absolutely no way to prevent botting with any changes to the client. Anti-cheating tools will be cracked and the rendertarget can always be read. The only working way is to put a camera in each players room and spy on them <.<

Maybe not, but you don't have to make it easy either. If SE took security seriously there is a lot they could do.

If Eve can achieve a good security profile why can't SE?
