Housing on new servers

Hi guys,

being relatively new to the game, I was already confronted with the problem of no available medium or large (or even small) plots for housing.
Hopefully this problem will be solved for me with the 2 new EU Servers that were announced to open their gates with Shadowbringers in Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XLVII Digest (11/29/2018) ((http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...st-(11-29-2018) ))

Since it's the first time I will be able to play on a new server, I have no idea how housing on new servers works.

Will all of the housing plots be avaible at once on day one or after a certain amount of time? Will the option for a server transfer be avaible directly?

If they open the server then all functions should be up as well including housing.

This will be the first time they've implemented new servers since the 4.2 housing changes. It's possible the RNG timers would still apply/ exist for all the houses on the server.

I don't know if the housing wards will be open right away. I know when they added the new housing area and the new wards last time, they weren't immediately available. I would think they would let the new servers fill up a little first and then open the wards.

There's no reason for them to delay opening up housing on the new worlds since that would be a primary attraction to get players to transfer.

The delays for the Shiro and additional wards were because those things happened at the same time as major content releases on worlds that already existed. They wanted players to have a chance to play through the new content without needing to decide if they should be camping for housing first.

The only reason I can see them delaying it for the new worlds would be if those worlds opened the same week as a content release, which would be a somewhat foolish decision in my opinion. Better to let players start transferring a week or two in advance to those worlds so they've already started filling before the new content comes out.

I'm not familiar with the EU data centers, but if you are will to transfer for housing why not try out Omega or Louisouix? According to the housing census they still have quite a few plots left, including a few mediums. Larges (and Mediums) are always going to be hard to come by as the demand far exceeds the supply, outside of the opening of new wards already owning a house is probably your best bet to get a bigger one since a house relocation bypasses the resale timer (this only works on the same server).

Yep, Omega and Louisoix, the 2 EU servers added at Stormblood launch, have ample small plots available.
